I think about my #genderidentity a lot & I struggle often with feeling valid or “enough.” This #poem is all about trying to silence those fears & reclaim my self... Because the ppl who benefit from me hating or doubting myself are the very ppl hell bent on destroying me (& us).

When my backpack was stolen earlier this year (later found and returned, miraculously!), this hat was taken and sadly not returned. It might be just a hat but it was also a special connection to my friend @teresabeans and her line @emotionalgoodsco. @teresabeans and I met through the wonderful space of queers on social media, and finding queer asian family was (and is) like finding treasure. Losing and missing this hat reminds me of all the wonderful fun, friends, and special folks I have found through instagram. I'm grateful for the way qtpoc on various social media platforms helped me understand myself and how these spaces gave me a way to express aspects of who i am. I hope whoever wears this hat loves it and that it reminds them of things found.
