Inspirada no passado da mãe, uma integrante do grupo Riot Grrrls, Viv decide fazer mudança através de Zines - um tipo de manifesto. Sem perceber, ela inicia uma pequena revolução. • O que dizer desse livro? Moxie não inicia com força total, pelo contrário, tem um inicio bem despretensioso. Vivian também não é uma mocinha forte e empoderada, ela é uma menina real, com erros e acertos, e que vai crescendo no desenrolar da história. • Acompanhar a história desse colégio é revoltante, e seria uma leitura pesada se Jeniffer não fosse tão genial. Ela não foca nas atitudes machistas/repulsivas e também não foca no movimento feminista, o que ela nos traz é algo cotidiano. Então temos relações familiares, amorosas e de amizade; é no dia a dia que "pequenas situações" acontecem. Tudo isso é escrito com muita leveza, de uma maneira divertida e informal. • Em alguns momentos senti indignação, em outros eu senti orgulho e admiração pelas meninas Moxie; Viv e suas amigas vão encontrando espaço e a chance de mudar o mundo ao redor delas - achei incrível as ilustrações dos Zines e panfletos que elas utilizaram. Gostei da maneira que Jennifer escolheu falar do feminismo. Ela não generaliza, mas enfatiza a importância de existir um movimento que nos dê voz e a oportunidade de buscar um mundo igualitário. Ela segue um ritmo linear, sem criar nada grandioso. Mas para essas meninas que estão descobrindo como ser Girl Power, essa revolução é bem significativa. É o primeiro passo de muitos. • Moxie, além de ser um exemplo de sororidade, é um guia para as meninas. É um livro sobre descobertas - descobrir como utilizar a voz e os punhos (para escrever), e então lutar. Um YA com um romance fofo, com amigas fantásticas e uma linguagem simples sobre feminismo.
