And sure enough we came across both Mullein & Wooly Lambs Ear. You’ve probably seen lots of both of these plants around. They both have the classic soft, fuzzy leaves that most people would use for toilet paper on the trail. . . Less than a minute after wrapping the wound in Mullien, I could feel it at work as it drew the sting completely out of the cut. After ten minutes I checked again and the plant had absorbed all the blood & encouraged quick blood clotting! . . Both Mullein & Wooly Lambs ear are anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiseptic, antispasmodic & astringent. In fact their medicinal uses go beyond just simple wound dressings! . . The kids are always scavenging for things to place at the table. It's where we gather to eat, work & tell stories three times a day, 365 days a year.
