1292 - 8 miles. I wasn't really in the mood for much of a run today, but had some chocolates I needed to deliver to my in-laws and in a weird twist of fate, my parents and them both live in the same city now and it's too convenient to NOT run there. So I ran. With chocolate. (And if they're melted, I do apologize ) (not sure when 75 degrees became so HOT. I wanted to jump in a river after four miles. I am a wimp now and do not know how I survived a Tennessee summer last year! ) For not wanting to run, it ended up being a good one - and with good company too!

Day 1300 - 1 mile. I can hardly believe yesterday was thirteen hundred days of running as it feels like just recently it was 2015 and I began running every day simply to hit a mileage goal for the year. I so wanted to do a longer run to celebrate...but didn't feel like it would be fair to go straight from running to subjecting other airplane passengers to a sweaty runner who smelled like she was just coughed up from the ocean. So I kept it short, ran my mile in bare feet, and savored every moment of it. @ptylerphoto

. I run this body ❤️ . And I love it because it’s strong... it’s grown three babies and fed each of them for a year. Of course it’s still a bit wobbly, but it answers every question I ask of it with a massive yes and for that I am so grateful. . I was brave enough to do hill reps in my hotpants tonight and I hope it’ll inspire more of you to get your legs out and be bloody proud. . Is it right for anybody to suggest that a person shouldn’t run because they’re not ‘built like a runner’? . Last week a friend of mine was told that very thing by a therapist she went to see about her sore neck. She was told that because she’s not slim and long limbed or ‘gazelle like’ maybe she shouldn’t run. . I don’t let many things trigger me, I like smiling and I like being positive - I’d rather use my energy to look for the good in people. But this has hit a nerve... . I’m written a blog post on this topic - the link is in my bio if you’d like to read it. But, in the meantime... . If you want to run. Provided there is no actual medical reason for you not to. Then run. Start slow. Listen to your body. The only investment you need to make is in some decent trainers... then just start. . The physical benefits of regular exercise are immeasurable. Despite what some people might tell you, weight bearing exercise will strengthen your bones not weaken them. . What a lot of people don’t expect is the effect running has on their mental well-being. If you’ve never tried it... give it a go. Just walked down the stairs normal for the first time in three days! #goals . I sent this picture to Coach @sarahbishopruns yesterday while cross training. My quads were still on fire after Monday, and a lot had to do with dehydration. I thought that I was going to own that #marathon after training for two weeks in the heat. And once again I was proven how fickle that distance can be. After waddling my way through three miles just to try and work out some lactic acid I threw in the towel and went with the arc trainer. And now I can actually walk! And make it down the stairs without cringing. Maybe tomorrow I’ll start putting down new goals to paper. Coming away with the W at @runpacers Parkway Classic was unexpected and still making me cheese processing it all but incredibly happy with an official 10 mile PR of 60:14 and feeling good today. : @i_running_girl 17 | Run Streak Day 7️⃣2️⃣0️⃣

Day 342: Garmin didn’t register correctly, but this was a big PR for me! 21:33 for the 5k, according to official results 6th overall female! . It was a great day for a race and some craft beers! So proud of me, even though it was foolish to go all out after PRing a marathon last week, it’s so hard to not give it your all. My calf is a flat tire, but I’m so proud of my body, you guys! .
