Happy first day of #summer ! I photographed the triathalon in #sewardpark in #seattle last summer. This was taken when the swimmers were warming up in the cold water. I got up at 4:30 am ito set up with my underwater housing and Nikon D850, my favorite combination! SGLTG Triathlete of the week - Mikayla @mikayla_bc ⠀ I came to triathlon with a little bit of running background. Started running in 2014 to regain my freedom after some health issues and fell in love with the community. I lost 60lbs that year and was so happy to be healthy!!! ⠀ ⠀ I joined the triathlon community/family In 2015 when I volunteered and sherpa’d for Dexter’s Ironman in Arizona. I knew as soon as I saw people running down that finishers shoot, that some day I would too! ⠀ ⠀ SGLTG has been there like family for me. After a wonderful 2016 season I signed up for Ironman Cozumel 2017! I’m still in shock with just how AMAZING that trip/race was. Ironman changed my life. I went further and pushed myself harder than I ever thought I could. A huge thanks goes to all the friends that were there cheering/supporting/racing/tracking me. I couldn’t have done it without all of them. Also got surprised with a ring at the finish line...so that race will always top the charts for me. ❤️ ⠀ ⠀ 2018 is going to be a great year!! So excited for all the good times ahead!!!!

Congratulations Chris! #Repost @couchtomarathon with @get_repost ・・・ I am an IRONMAN finisher (again). It was a long hot day with way too much wind but it’s over with and I finished (although it was a couple hours later than I hoped for) Thanks to @baxterperformance and @tridotsystem for coaching me through this. And to @bonk_breaker (5 bars on the day) @honeystinger (2 waffles, 4 gels and 3 bags of energy chews) @altredbysur did a double before the start. A one in T1 & T2. @baseperformance (carried 3 tubes of salt and only lost one, emptied the other two) @genucan had a bottle before the start, three doses on the bike, one in special needs bike, one for the start of the run and a final at special needs run. And finally @nuunhydration Started with 3-4 bottles a day for the four days before, 40 oz Speedfil will 3 tablets and 6 tablets each for bike and run for refills. Used them all.
