Thoracic spine mobility is important for the squat, front rack and overhead mobility. In honor of my new 4-week mobility programs (link in bio) being on sale right now, here is one of my FAVORITE thoracic mobility exercises:⠀⠀

A lot of fancy mobility exercises come and go and float around on the interwebs. I find myself coming back to the good old basic thoracic spine extension over the foam roller. This variations flexes the hips (to limit lumbar extension) and utilizes a kettlebell or dumbbell to get some extra weight to help you pull into more thoracic extension.⠀⠀

Thoracic spine mobility is important for squatting, the front rack (clean and jerk) and overhead mobility by reducing stress on the lower back, shoulders and hips during common gym exercises. It's also an area where we tend to get stiff as we age. Bottom line, regular thoracic spine work is probably a good thing. Give this one a go and let me know what you think!⠀⠀

ROTATOR CUFF STRENGTHENING

Two badass exercises to fire up your rotator cuff, engage and test scapular strength, and move your shoulder through their full functional range

1️⃣ Aply scratch movement with a bar. This can be done with a band if your would like as well. The important part is you press the bar away from your back forcing the rotator cuff to fire

Can’t do it? That’s alright, start without the bar and just actively bring one arm over head and one arm behind the back. Then switch in the opposite direction

2️⃣ Cuban press: this should be done with a very light bar (or band). The goal is to control the weight slowly through a full range of motion

Remember, these exercises are meant for rehabbing and maximizing the health of your shoulders. They are meant to be challenging but NOT to create pain. -

@sarah_truex Should win an award every day for putting up with me. She is the greatest mother I've ever known and that's not a prideful hubby speaking either. That's one thing you'll never know until you're already long with a woman and if she didn't do anything else good in life I'd be happy with how amazing she is at being a mom.
Fortunately she has shown me continuously whay true unconditional love is. Coming from a father who was deep into drugs, gambling and alcoholism and then dealing with me drinking my face off for 5 years and smoking weed almost daily our entire relationship until recently, what can I say? She should have ran so many times because I was replicating the same scary situation her father was in a different way.
We both have always had our Father Yahuah and Mashiak Yahusha in our lives and although we didn't walk it the way we do now. He most certainly brought us back to life. Does she have her issues? Sure but can I even think of them easily when posting this? Absolutely not. That's how amazing she is and her love proves to be fierce and fearless. I never deserved this messenger from Heaven to bring me back to life and save me from what I was doing to myself working so hard into oblivion but that's the mercy of our Father and He obviously has a huge purpose for us both, together!
I love you princess, and I'm thankful you saved me and brought me back to life so I can be here every day to make up for all I put you through. I know I'm a hard worker and I do a lot of things most others may not, but it doesn't take away from how hard you faced adversity without ever giving up. You are the most incredible thing in life and I am so glad Jeff Na forced you to sit next to me that day. I knew right then you'd be in my life, I never knew how powerful you would be in orchestrating my life.
Men, women were taken from us, so don't be a fool and place yourself above them. They are literally part of us and the true puppeteers in the background. Men are meant to take on the world and absorb all the damage, but women are the true brains in the situation. Don't be fooled.

One of my all time favorite exercises .... because it feels great!
Following on from the rotation at the start of the week, another great one if you are stiff in your mid back area Or struggle with neck and shoulder pain.
Can help to work against those daily habits of too long at laptops / computers / in cars or on trains etc.
Get some new habits and give this a go, try get it done twice a day maybe when you get in from work and in the evening whilst watching tv. Hold for as long as you can tolerate going to 5-10 mins if comfortable.
