Prone Hip Flexor Switch/ Split Drop to SL Box Jump...I really like this combo mainly because I love single leg variations on most exercises but it’s a great way to develop explosiveness/power through the hip flexors, quads & hamstrings for sprinting and of course jumping. For the prone hip flexor Switch we really want to keep our core as engaged as possible and not let the hips drop. Focus on driving the knee to the chest and trying to keep our shoulder from rounding forward.

Hamstring Rehab - advanced ——- Muscle strains are common in sports. Rehabbing them can be tricky depending on the severity level. In short, the idea is to gradually restore the ability of the hamstring to take on load. Reintroducing pain free strengthening exercises is the key and then functional tasks like jogging, running, decelerating and cutting. I personally believe stress management is important and not pushing the hamstring too much. This is where the rehab gets difficult because making the session challenging is key but not pushing beyond the tipping point of re-injury. ——- There are many things that must be addressed in the late stages of hamstring rehab. A couple being whether the hamstring can handle sudden quick contractions under load and handle load in a lengthened position. In this exercise, the patient had no idea when I’m going to resist him. He has to react as soon as he feels tension. This exercise can be performed at different angles and I can make it more challenging by pushing harder. ——- Tag someone who could use this exercise! Shoulder Stability Rehab ——- When addressing shoulder instability, my goal is to challenge the shoulder in a variety of ways. The shoulder has the most degrees of freedom out of any joint in the body, and ensuring it regains stability is important. The goal in early rehab is to gradually introduce load and pain free exercises. Exercises should focus on shoulder and scapula stabilizers, while combining both open and closed chain exercises. Additionally, exercises must progress to a high enough level to meet the demands the demands of their sport. ——- 1️⃣ Here is a reactive shoulder stab exercise utilizing a ball. Patients will feel more secure in this position versus pure open chain. Shoulder rehab —— The term “impingement” is probably overused as it simply just means something is being pinched and causing pain. This could be due to weakness, overuse of improper shoulder mechanics. The goal is to restore pain free motion and then restore strength. —— The posterior cuff or external rotators are typically not trained which can potentially be a cause of shoulder pain. Here are two exercises focused on the external rotators. 1️⃣ No moneys - a simple bilateral external rotation and scap retraction exercise,m. I’m always a fan of trying to find an exercise that’s easy to do at home if necessary. 2️⃣ Banded ER with trunk rotation - another ER exercise but the added trunk rotation increases demand of the scap retractors. ——- Tag someone who could use these exercises!
