When I saw my stomach for the first time, I cried my eyes out for days and dreaded the future that I'd have to live with a scar so hideous. I felt like I could never be "pretty" to society because of it. For weeks I was so depressed at what happened to me and I couldn't seem to shake it. I acted like I was okay, that I was happy, but I wasn't. If it wasn't for my mom, Maddy, my two best guy friends that would spend hours texting me and my care takers showering me with love, strength and inspiration; I wouldn't have came out with a positive attitude on my stomach. Everyday, I'm more and more shocked at how well this is healing and how fast the swelling is going down. I'm now proud of my scar because it tells my story and just proves that God doesn't give you more than you can handle. I definitely had more than one angel looking over me during those 3 surgeries. Confidence... something I lack so highly! As you can see I have a scar, now let’s just say this first, that scar use to not look that good. Have I accepted it? Uhm in some cases. . Here’s where I get frustrated with myself, my life could’ve took a turn for the worse, I could have had something so much deeper than just this scar. So I should be forever thankful that god gave me this scar. . Back story: just two years ago is when I actually started wearing bikinis and last year I was non stop with the high waisted. . The moral to all of this is, stop hiding yourself. Embrace who you are because god molded you with his perfect hands to create you the way he wanted you to be. Yes I have had plastic surgery, but I’m still who I am. . The comparison photos are to show myself that I need to stop hiding, I need to be confident in my own skin and so do you! Embrace the curves, the hidden scars, anything that keeps holding you back. EMBRACE IT! You are all beautiful! . Learning to love yourself can be a very long road, but when we step out of our comfort zone... (me for example: not wearing high waisted because I think no one can see my scar) we have to push aside and be true to ourselves, because at the end of the day, the only approval we need is Jesus!
