The Dance of Thai Yoga Massage . . There are many layered components to the practice in order to create the dance between the giver and receiver. Beyond the basic skills & movements of the practitioner, there is a smooth metered breath, a balance of effort & ease, push & pull, imprinting & integration. The art of giving & receiving in Thai Massage . . More advanced moves are more advanced simply as they have more foundational components happening simultaneously. Here the experienced practitioner needs to have prepared themselves first by opening their range of motion & mobility in their feet & ankles. They must be able to go into deep knee flexion, be able to engage & move from their core, use proper hand placement, and lastly be skillful with the breath. . . Whew! Seems like a lot! But, if one repeatedly practices these skills karate kid “wax on, wax off” style then one can advance on to what we call the Dance of Thai Massage. . .
