Adoption Update! Does anyone remember Trish Panda from our original group? *** Fiesty and fun, Trish Panda liked to play, explore, and sit on her throne. (*alone*, thank you very much, no cat or human friends needed!) *** Trish Panda had been dumped in front of the shelter, and adopted/returned multiple times. @clevelandapl and affoGATO felt she could get the space she needed here while we waited for a PURRfect match who would be patient and let her true personality shine! *** Now, her wonderful adopter sent us this update: “Trish is loving it in her new home. She gets along great with Tootsie and Rory [dogs in the pics] and most nights they all end up cuddled together on the couch. She is super friendly and loves pets and attention...the second I walk in the door she comes running for rubs. She is so incredibly sweet and affectionate to anyone she interacts with. She still has her cattitude from time to time but I think she likes me so far. Thanks for my furever friend!” *** As one of our first “sassy cats”, we think of Trish Panda’s story to help remind us that there’s a match for every cat, we just have to be patient and find them!

To cap off a festive slew of houses this week I present the Christmas Story House. This 1895 Victorian was used as the exterior for the 1983 Christmas classic A Christmas Story. While the film took place in fictional Hohman, Indiana it was filmed in Cleveland, Ohio and featured many Cleveland landmarks. Including this house in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland. The house was purchased in 2004 by San Diego entrepreneur Brian Jones on Ebay for $150,000. Jones' business, the Red Rider Leg Lamp Company, manufactures replicas of the famous leg lamp from the movie, seen in picture two. The interiors of the house had been thoroughly modernized and Jones painstakingly went through the movie frame by frame in order to gut the house and replicate the interiors of the house in the film, to the tune of $240,000, which had been shot on a soundstage. The house was opened to the public, along with a museum across the street, in November of 2006. It's a pretty popular visit.
