"The Waste Land" si chiude con alcuni frammenti di poeti del passato, testimoni di tradizione culturale nobile e secolare, e con la dichiarazione: «Con questi frammenti io ho puntellato le mie rovine». “Poemas” de T.S. Eliot, nessa edição da @companhiadasletras traduzido por Caetano W. Galindo me acompanhou por muitos cafés.
Desde o ano passado tenho um projeto chamado #CaféComPoesia que começou com minha vontade de ler mais poesia e, o horário que consegui encaixar na minha rotina, foi durante o café da manhã. Faço essa leitura de forma despretenciosa, deixo que as palavras e ritmos encontrem seus caminhos para dentro de mim e despertem algum tipo de sentimento, sem me preocupar com técnica, forma, escola, estilo. Confesso que com os primeiros poemas de T.S. Eliot essa leitura foi um pouco truncada, confusa, eu não conseguia deixar as palavras me alcançarem. Precisei buscar auxilio nas notas e em outros textos de apoio. Senti o “peso” de ler um poeta tão importante para a literatura. Não consegui usar o pouco tempo que tinha disponível na correria do dia a dia e, assim que optei por ler T.S.Eliot no café da manhã do final de semana, com calma e buscando um pouco de auxílio técnico - não precisei ler textos muito extensos -, pude compreender sua genialidade, o motivo de ser um autor tão celebrado. Respirei fundo, voltei na primeira página e finalmente, sua musicalidade me encontrou, depois as palavras a seguiram e foi como se um novo mundo se abrisse para mim. A tradução me agradou bastante, mas eu não consegui deixar de ler o original. No final, o tradutor tem uma conversa franca com o leitor sobre suas dificuldades durante o trabalho e o caminho que percorreu para encontrar soluções. - “Porque eu sei que o tempo é sempre tempo E o lugar é sempre e somente lugar E o que é de fato é fato apenas em seu tempo E somente em seu lugar” - Foi uma experiência incrível, que recomendo a todos. Para aqueles que não gostam de poesia ou que não são muito fãs do gênero, meu conselho é: experimente. Leia em voz alta, deixe que as palavras te carreguem para longe e se for preciso, busque auxílio para aproveitar a viagem.
