Take a walk on the wild side {complimentary meal} . . @wildfoodcafe has been on my ‘to visit’ list for yonks now so when I found out that they’d opened @wildfoodcafe_islington, I knew it was finally time to tick it off ✔️ . . Here’s what we ate & what we thought: . Creamy wild mushroom pizza w/ almond & shiitake sauce, marinated mushrooms macadamia ricotta, pine nut “Parmesan” & truffle oil £14.50 ✏️I really enjoyed the juicy mushrooms & creamy textures on this pizza although the truffle was subtle and I would’ve loved stronger flavours . ❓ Order Again? Yes . . Steamed ‘sea’ aubergine w/ pickled mooli, wakame & cucumber £7 ✏️ The aubergine didn’t do it for me! Maybe a bit more heat would’ve worked ❓ Order Again? No . . King Oyster Scallops w/ seaweed tartare, red pepper salsa & wild sea purslane £9 ✏️Really well cooked shrooms and a dreamy tartare as well as a nice crunch from the peppers ❓ Order Again? Yes . . Quinoa dosa pancake w/ tikka mushroom, kale, tabbouleh & salsa verde . £9 ✏️Loved this! Absolutely beautiful flavours and again, divine juicy mushrooms. The one dish I kept going back for! ❓ Order Again? Yes . . Wild green burger w/ raw pink olive & shiitake mushroom patty, sundried tomato & pepper ketchup, butterhead lettuce, gherkins, caramelised onion & red pepper sauce - served with kale chips £14.50 ✏️I didn’t enjoy this burger. I did like how soft the bun was but both the patty & bun needed more flavour. ❓ Order Again? No . . Raw rainbow cheesecake £8 ✏️You may know that I don’t have a big sweet tooth but I had a few bites and this was light & refreshing with a zesty lemon flavour. Chris loved it and ate the lot ❓ Order Again? Yes . . Location: Angel / Covent Garden GF Options: Yes 100% Vegan? Yes Type of Eatery: Modern, casual, stunning!
