I spent yesterday working a craft show & taking my 12 & 11 year old girls bathing suit shopping. Let me hit pause right here. First, I used to be able to buy them any suit I thought was cute and show up at home with it and they would squeal with delight because it meant summer was close at hand and who cared what the suit looked like! Not anymore, friends. Yesterday we went to Target, Old Navy, Gabe’s, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, Macy’s, JC Penny’s and NOTHING Three. Hours. Of. Shopping. What. The. What. This morning, first thing, we hit the ground running. Ross. Kohl’s (2 different ones!! ). Kid to Kid and BACK to Target. I’m happy to report that all 3 girls now have a bathing suit. We have a trip on Wednesday so we HAD to find them ASAP! Last night David treated me to my favorite, Thai food and Thai coffee, and while we all snuggled in to watch a movie ( #adogswayhome ), River handed me a cup of milk filled with chocolate chip cookies & ice cream, one of my favorite desserts. She taped a note to it and included $20. In that moment, I remembered doing similar things for my mom. And out of her love for me, she would say something like “No! I cant take your money!” And though I knew it was out of love, I wanted her to want/need my gift. For a split second, I almost told River that I didn’t want/need her money. $20 is such a sacrifice for her! It was so hard, but I’m so so glad I didn’t. Instead, I gave her a hug and told her I could not wait to go shopping for myself with it and get myself something new. She just beamed with pride and gave me the biggest hug. So, Mother’s Day for me was spent happily “doing” and shopping for my arrows. But notes like this, from a 12 year old, make even bathing suit shopping on Mother’s Day so worthwhile ❤️ I hope you all had a beautiful Mother’s Day!

Yesterday was Christian’s first birthday party and we had so much fun celebrating our little man with our favorite people! he LOVED his smash cake and although most of my decorations didn’t make it up, it was such a sweet day. I was crying so much before we fell asleep because the bittersweet reality hit of this first year being over (almost - not until tomorrow ) but when I woke up this morning he just wanted to be held by mama, which was a much needed reminder that he’s still my baby boy I didn’t document the day as much as I hoped to because we were just enjoying the present moment, but swipe ➡️ to see some of the pics we did snap! I did it! I remember when I had the idea of going back to school and how fearful I was of not being able to balance everything or even be able to “do” school since it’s been so long! I decided to push my fears aside and DO IT.. I’m so happy I did! I’m following a dream I have and not letting anything get in my way. I hope that for all of you!! I’m beyond blessed and honored to have met some of the most amazing woman and make some of my BEST friends!
