Eating well and exercising are hands down two of my favourite practices for achieving a healthier body and mind, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned recently - it’s that even in conjunction, they're still not enough.

With all the issues I’ve been experiencing with my health recently, I’ve come to appreciate that there is SO MUCH MORE to a healthy life than a consistent gym routine and ‘clean’ diet.
-I’ve come to value little daily habits and practices that can completely transform and improve my health - so long as I give them the time and energy they need.

For me, the biggest wakeup call has been just how much my mind still needs some work - and not in the ways I thought it would. For so long I’ve had to fight with a lot of what my mind tells me, push through mind games and endure inner battles to come out stronger. To a degree, I think that’s necessary in order to conquer any kind of disordered or destructive thinking habits.

It gets to the point though, where all that fighting isn’t enough anymore, and your left with lingering thoughts/worries/anxieties that create tension and exhaustion the more you try to resist them. Here’s where meditation comes in. Last week I received a 12-month subscription to @headspace through the FutureFit Perk @bupaaustralia provides in their new pilot program. I was a little hesitant to try meditating because if yoga has taught me anything, it’s that I actually hate being still and doing anything slowly or calmly (#highlystrung).

One week in, and I’m officially an addict. I can’t even explain how much better I’ve been sleeping, how much more energy I have during my workouts and at work, and how much more I’m learning to love myself through simply accepting my thoughts, instead of constantly being at war with them.

So much energy is taken up when your headspace is negative, and it can seriously undermine all your healthy practices through stress and self-sabotage. I’m really glad I found this little wellbeing weapon, and I’ve just shared my favourite medis so far and a link to try them yourself on my story!

So Lucy is working all weekend at a training course with @futurefittraining to learn more about training/ nutrition and gain her PT qualification GO LUCY! This is me waving her off this morning as she spent the night at my house. I tried to help her revise but things got a bit silly and we got distracted Twin moments
Knowledge is power! But so is experience, and even though she is yet to gain her L3 she has been training for years and years and has a alot of people asking her for advice so she thought why not!

I passed the nutrition and weight management course which provided 16 CPD points and now just finished the Pre & Post Natal Nutrition for another 10 points.

I have been and I am still currently doing my exams, revision, physical assessments and working full time and training as much as possible. Because of this sad to say - I’ve had VERY little time to be as active as I want to be on here. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
