WHAT TO DO ON RESERVE
The answer is...anything you want.
Take online classes - get another degree(my future plan). Get a side gig - freelancing, food delivery, dog walking.
Read, go outside, explore and hike.
I like going to a coffee shop in the morning, to work on my website that provides insights on the Flight Attendant lifestyle, training and hiring.
There is Uber (food delivery) +other apps like DoorDash, Instacart, Postmates. Some of them you do not require a car.
Another good one to do is dog walking Wag and Rover.
The reasons those work on reserve is because individual tasks do not take a lot of time. Even if you get called you can quickly finish the work. Get those extra dollars.
My friends work as a substitute teacher, and an on-call grocery store associate.
The options are limitless, let me know what you like to do while on reserve (on call) .

Second semester of grad school started so not much reading for fun but I did manage to squeeze in a bunch of audiobooks! All of these books were free either from the library (via Libby app) or Hoopla or an ARC. The book for grad school was given to me by my school! - KNR

Book #17 of 2019 | I work at a Public Library by Gina Sheridan
•••
Oh man, this book is HILARIOUS. Check out my stories if you get a chance, or my story highlights called “PL” if you need a laugh today. This book is compiled of the best submissions from the website, iworkatapubliclibrary.com. I WORK AT A PUBLIC LIBRARY is packed with the funniest conversations and patrons that librarians have submitted to the site. If these encounters are anything like what I will experience as a future librarian, count me in! This is one of those books that you can always pick up and refer back to if you need a laugh. I WORK AT A PUBLIC LIBRARY’s chapters are organized like the Dewey Decimal System (how fitting) and submissions are placed in alphabetical order. The book itself is an incredibly quick read and can be read in one sitting. Patrons really make the library a great (or sometimes not so great) place to work, and I am so happy that Sheridan collected all of these fantastic moments and published them in a book format. And yes, I, of course, checked this book out from my local library.

This is from a youtuber “Morena in Japan” talking about growing up poor. Here she mentions the library as a wonderland for poor ppl, a safe free space you wont get kicked out of ( as long as you acting right ) you take out 12 books a week and are one of the fastest readers in school because all you did was read for fun because there was not much else you could afford but also as a coping mechanism to deal with the type of things only people growing up poor would understand. I could really relate and its just another reiteration of why the library is such an important place for me to be as I work towards this degree. I recommend checking her out cause shes mad cute and funny and has a Patreon @morenalostinjapan - thats a fan page not sure if she deleted her main insta.
