Broke in 2019 with my pals at @bodegacove. 2 years ago we stayed here before the renovations of these old panabode cabins.

These past three days have been a bit of a whirlwind: I was in Vancouver shooting this beautiful session with Z&Z on Saturday, came back home Saturday for an in studio session with D&A and then back to Vancouver yesterday for a proposal at Stanley Park! Four years ago I never would have imagined that I would be doing this as a profession. I was three months pregnant with Olivia, styling hair and about to find out that my whole world would be turned upside down. Life can throw some pretty hard curve balls your way. I never imagined that I would lose my father so suddenly and while I was expecting my first child. It was the most challenging and heartbreaking time in my life. But through all of that heartbreak I thought about what my Dad would always say: “I wish I could help you more.” You see, I was struggling in life, I was deep in debt and having a hard time digging my way out of a dark hole. When he passed, his voice played in my head a lot—I thought about how much he believed in me and how much he wanted to help me realize my dreams. I looked through boxes of photos of our life we shared together and cried over how powerful those 4”x6” prints meant to me, these tiny pieces of paper that brought back so much of the love we shared. I could hear his laugh, I could feel the warmth of his kind smile. It was in those moments of darkness, where I found the light I needed. From such a difficult chapter arose a determined woman, a mama, an amateur photographer working towards her dreams of capturing moments for others. It is never lost on me how much of a gift it is that I photograph your connection, your love, your biggest moments in life. One day these images will be in albums in your home and you will flip through them with your children and your loved ones and tell them all about your story and all the little chapters that led up to that moment. I will never be able to thank you enough for trusting me to be the one to tell your stories ❤️ // .
