Harath Shen, Master Apothecary of the Salamanders, reborn in the crucible of the Rubicon Primaris. A big part of my motivation for starting this army was all the cool Salamanders characters that are in the lore (and in some cases, the rules), but don’t have a model. To me that seemed like such an awesome space for big conversions. This is part one of my planned series of conversions for some of these characters. I tried a lot of new stuff with this one, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. Let me know what you think Parts: Primaris Apothecary, FW Pyroclast sword, FW Mk III plasma pistol. #salamanders40k #minipainting #fortheemperor #spacemarines #eavymetal #warhammer40k #40k #gamesworkshop #gamesworkshop40k #paintingwarhammer #paintingwarhammer40k #harathshen #paintingforgeworld

A Power Sword
Credit:
https://www.facebook.com/weetobuilds/
A Power Sword is a Power Weapon that has been shaped into a sword of varying lengths and designs crafted from one of any number of different materials, though usually Adamantium. When its power cell is activated, often by touching a control located on the hilt, the blade is sheathed in a lethal corona of disruptive energy. This energy field allows the blade to carve through flesh, bone and most forms of armour plate alike, making a Power Sword a highly effective Imperial close combat weapon. Power Swords are used by all members of the Imperial armed forces, including the troops of the Imperial Guard and the Space Marines of the Adeptus Astartes.
In the 41st Millennium, few members of the Adeptus Mechanicus retain the knowledge necessary to make these deadly weapons, and those that are in existence are often hundreds or even thousands of standard years old. Crafting a Power Sword is an endeavor of love and artistry and few Tech Priests in m41 have the luxury to perform such feats. Therefore, most power swords are considered rare and greatly coveted personal close combat melee weapons used on the battlefields, considered as elite weapons and a sure sign of high status in the Imperium.
In the hands of a skilled swordsman, a Power Sword combine a deadly offence with a nearly impenetrable defence. They come in a variety of shapes and styles, and entire schools are devoted to their mastery. The sight of an angel of vengeance charging into battle is intimidating in its own right. When his weapon or fist itself suddenly flares to life in a halo of electricity, it becomes truly inspiring—or terrifying—depending on which side of the charge you are on.

Primaris Pikachu
Credit: https://www.facebook.com/matthew.shand.52
Primaris Pikachu is a tall, slightly chubby Primaris Space Marine from the homebrew Primaris Chapter Pokémon. His Chapter suffers from the corrupting influences of the warp due to the proximity of their adopted homeworld to the Cicatrix Maledictum and a large percentage of their new recruits suffer from varying mutations during their transformation into Primaris Space Marines. Interestingly, each transformation appears to be unique, sometimes granting the Space Marine powerful strange abilities akin to a biological version of psyker abilities.
Thanks to the physical mutations, the Pokémon Chapter is viewed with suspicion by the Inquisition but with the series of terrible events after the Fall of Cadia, no one simply has any time to censure a Chapter clearly loyal to the Imperium. The Chapter therefore has continued to perform, to the best of their abilities, their duty to the Emperor defending against daemons that encroach into Imperial space from out of the Great Rift.
Primaris Pikachu was luckier than most in the mutations he received. He was blessed to remain mostly humanoid, taking on a slightly feral look similar to some Space Wolves. When viewed out of his power armour, he is covered in yellow fur from head to toe and has two long pointed ears with black tips much like a rabbit. There is a red circle on each cheek on his face that contains a gland that somehow stores electricity. His arms and hands are perfectly normal but his feet have only three toes each. He also has a strange lightning bolt-shaped tail that does not appear to do anything.
Primaris Pikachu builds up electric charge automatically over time on the two glands on his cheeks. After building up enough electricity, he can release electric discharges of varying intensity. An unfortunate side effect is that he will have to release the electric blasts after some time even without enemies nearby or will feel actual discomfort much like constipation. This can present a problem during extended warp travel. He is also known to have a foul mouth which can make him an unpleasant travelling companion, all things considered.
The many uses of a Chainsword
Credit: https://www.facebook.com/prizmateccosplay/
The Chainsword is the preferred close combat melee weapon of many of the military forces of the Imperium of Man. It is essentially a sword with powered teeth that run along a single-edged blade like that of a chainsaw. The teeth are typically monomolecularly-edged although any form of sharpened metal works just as well.
Chainswords are not subtle weapons, and wielding one is a statement in its own right: they are horrific tools of war, designed to bite, tear and eviscerate where more primitive blades merely cut and slice. The weapon makes an angry buzzing sound as the teeth spin around, intensifying into a high pitched scream as they grind into armour. It is not unlike a modern chainsaw, but lighter and able to be wielded with one hand, often used in conjunction with a Las Pistol.
Among Mankind's endless armies, the ubiquitous Chainsword has found a home in the arsenal of many Imperial Guard officers and Commissars, as well as serving as the weapon of choice for countless warriors among the Adeptus Astartes since the ancient era of the Space Marine Legions in the Great Crusade. This weapon sees action in all forces that serve in boarding and assault parties -- such as Space Marine Assault Squads, Chaos Space Marines, especially the Chaos Space Marines' Raptor Assault Squads. The Chainsword has also been seen in common use amongst Imperial pirates and Rogue Trader captains.
Every Space Marine Chapter will forge their own chainswords with subtle differences to those of its brethren, just as every Forge World produces its tried and tested signature weapons based on its preferred schematics. Surprisingly, one of the most dramatic Imperial variants is found among the Adeptus Astartes: the so-called "Hell's Guitar" chainsword of the Ultramarines, with its chain-teeth supposedly able to play an ancient form of Terran music, when grinded against ceramic of power armour gloves. This practice is fortunately frowned upon by the Tech Priests maintaining the weaponry as they believe it's a grave insult to both the machine spirits of the Chainsword and the Power Armour.
