I FAILED my first year! It was a complete flop and I remember asking my parents to drop Law and pick up another degree programme because I was convinced I was incapable of making it as Law Graduate. To my dismay, my parents insisted I continue with Law even if it meant repeating first year. So I went back to first year and that was my most difficult year emotionally. The humiliation of repeating, watching your classmates move on to second year and you are still stuck at stage 1. I, thought I was going to die but as the year went on, I realised I had to change my attitude and focus. So I changed my studying technique. I passed my repeat first year. Although, the marks weren’t distinctions, it was a start and I was in the right direction. Years went on and my marks improved until I was accepted for the prestigious LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree in 2015. You need to understand why it’s so prestigious, in first year, there are almost 400-500 aspirant lawyers and the numbers drop each year because Law is not easy. By the time you get to third year, there are about 200 aspirant lawyers and the Law Faculty only wants 60 students for LLB. So I applied and I was accepted in the first round of applications! I was thrilled but I also knew the demands that came with the degree. I was terrified. But that terror drove me and I worked my bum off and in my penultimate year, I got the best marks I’ve ever had and made the Dean’s List. I worked harder in my final year and I got even better marks and not only did I make the Dean’s List again, I GRADUATED! What had been impossible in first year had become possible. A few months later, I was invited to join the Golden Key Society! I was shocked! I knew I had done well at school but I never thought I did well enough to be part of the top 15% students in my degree programme and also be recognized by an international society for my academics. Needless to say, I accepted the invitation and today as I join the academic elite of the world, I can attest to the magic of hard work, determination and focus. Who knew that poor old Varaidzo, the struggling first year could ever make it. But she did and if I can do it, so can you ! #goldenkey

La mayoría de los lugares acepta tarjeta y Euros pero darán vuelto en CZK. Nosotros con una visita de 2 días, no cambiamos dinero en ningún momento. . Se Habla Checo pero todos manejan un inglés básico. De todas formas, saludar y agradecer en el idioma local, siempre será valorado. Por lo tanto, fonéticamente hablando. Hola es “ajoi” y gracias “dikuí”. . La frontera con alemania es imperceptible. Así que si estás en auto, vas a tener que frenar en la primer estación de servicio que puedas y pedir la “viñeta” (sticker) para pegar en el auto y así evitar multas por ingresar con auto alemán ‍♀️.
