That breakout is either going be out the opposite end as we seen with the typical Indecision candle reversal signal or price can continue moving in the direction of the trend. See how the indecision candle acts as a continuation breakout in the example shown here. So as you can see this indecision candle provided a good opportunity for the trader to jump in on this bullish trending market. After price had broken the neckline, the market retested the neckline support as new resistance and produced a breakout trap & reverse trade. The double top reinforced our trade setups and our bearish bias. The chart demonstrates how an Inside Bar breakout signal got us into the wedge pattern breakout. It is not complicated issue to identify a double top chart pattern. Being a reversal pattern from a previous swing high, you can easily scan for swing highs and set an alert when price revisits that price zone. Two tops, top 1 & top 2 (or swing highs or peaks )that are almost on the same price level. Financial markets are not perfect so expect some price splash around the levels. There should be equal distance in terms of time it takes to form the highs (peaks) Some currency futures traders like to include a third requirement to classify a double top: volume. They want to see a decrease in volume on the second high. This give them added confidence that the buyers are losing steam and a price reversal can happen. Let’s review this chart: Two tops or peaks were formed after a strong move upward. The second top or swing high (or peak) was unable to break the second top or swing high (top 2). When price does not break this resistance level above top 2, this is a strong indication that a reversal is going to occur. The area between the open and close of the pin bar is called the “body” or “real body”. The open and close of the pin bar should be very close together or equal (same price), the closer the better. The open and close of the pin bar are near one end of the bar, the closer to the end the better The shadow or tail of the pin bar sticks out (protrudes) from the surrounding price bars, the longer the tail of the pin bar the better.
