Let’s be honest... Blues & greens can be a complete bitch to remove out of the hair, especially if the hair is previously compromised. I’ve learned over time that using good ol color theory & canceling out the color before any lightening/coloring can help tremendously. It’s true, the color wheel definitely should be your bff. ‍♀️ After one color canceling (@aloxxihair rose gold conditioner), one 3 min bleach wash, one pre tone (@aloxxihair clear & @goldwellus Pure Pigments) one all over color (@aloxxihair @goldwellus PP) & one color conditioning wash (@aloxxihair pink, purple & silver conditioner mixed) we have our selves a silvery/lilacy beauty. I added @brazilianbondbuilder into ALL formulas & gave her a Demi treatment to help her ‘in need of help’ hairs

Got to color my favorite MERMAID ‍♀️ today @christaricemakeup . . Also I got to try @goldwellus pure pigments for the first time! . I used Cool Violet pure pigment drops mixed with Topchic 6NN and 4V for the base. . I also used @pravana Violet and blue Topaz for the ends for this cool ombré look! . Locked in the color using @biolage Acid Milk rinse. . ‍♀️She always uses @celebluxury viral color wash shampoos and conditioners for maintenance!

Mango (aka orange) roots, but wanting pastels ... So here’s the deal.. this client (with level 3 hair) has developed an allergy to bleach when used directly on her scalp. We do back to back foils on her entire head to get as much lift as we can as close to the root as we can (making sure to not let any lightener seep through to her scalp). Then I use a violet root color to blend her base into our chosen color palette. That is why her roots are more golden and less blended prior to this color application. watch until the end to see how well those orange roots blend with silvery opal. #colorchemist . . ⚡️HOT TIP⚡️ when working with fashion colors... even as peekaboos, MORE is MORE... I used my cover photo as an example. For this look, I colormelted pastels from the nape to about 3 inches ABOVE occipital bone. Only the very top is painted with silvers.
