Sneak peek! - I’m currently working on a piece right now for this set of photos for publication. It’s stirring up a lot of emotion. The most amazing part about being a writer is that when you sit down to write you are constantly in self-discovery. When I write my mind works in overdrive. As I dig deep, reflect and pound away at the keyboard I find out more and more about myself. As I write, I discuss what comes up with my therapist and we dig even deeper, which provides even more clarity. In turn this produces a thoroughly thought through piece of writing. Therapy, writing and yoga has been pivotal in my recovery and healing. In reading “The Road Less Traveled” by M. Scott Peck, M.D., Dr. Peck states that frequently Patients are already in a growth process before considering psychotherapy and it is the symptoms of this growth process that impel them to the therapists office. The therapists job is to merely help complete a growth process that has already begun. That said, if you look at Therapy as a positive and something that can help in your growth instead of looking at it as a sign of weakness the perception of it changes. By sharing my experience, my hope is to help remove the stigma around therapy and that is what I am working through right now in my writing. The inspiration behind this piece was the @Vogue 2002 spread of Christy Turlington @cturlington. Our team brought fashion and yoga together and created something unique and beautiful. For me, this brought up so much, as a fashion blogger/influencer/writer and model, I am also extremely passionate about yoga. Being that yoga is such a huge part of my life and my healing, we brought all of these together. This is just a sneak peek. 15 - that’s how many lies I’ve shed. The Red Chanel bag I was given for my 30th birthday for the fuck up in Ireland when my daughter and I were left, the Cartier Love Bracelet I purchased for myself for Valentines Day 2017 - I engraved it myself “❤️ to the moon and back… ❤️”, the Louis Vuitton delivered to my work after the “business trip” was really a trip to Vegas. The diamond earrings, a cover up for illicit activities that I am unable to share, for now. I could go on... Listen to me loud and clear... your designer bags, diamonds, home, designer shoes... these material items DO NOT define you. YOU alone are good enough, material items are often used as bribery. It took me a very long time to figure that out and now I know that, the fabric of who I am and who I thought I was has changed. The TRUTH has set me free. This fall I will be partnering up with @bittergraceboutique and @doorways_va for a self care day for women. I’ll be speaking and will be selling the majority of the clothing in my closet at the event. I am donating 100% of the proceeds to women of Domestic Violence. It’s hard to do, but once you are free of abuse, toxicity, lies, cheating - you can be free. ❤️ More information coming. Today we celebrate 40,000 followers!!!! I can’t believe it.
