Here is a simple yet great exercise to build leg strength and increase knee mobility/flexibility using your own body weight!

Method: After starting in a tall kneeling position with pointed toes it is important to focus on activating your glutes and core to maintain a straight body throughout the entire movement. Ideally, your glutes will lightly touch your heels at the bottom of the exercise without piking/bending your hips. Focus on form rather than how low you can go. ⠀

If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably know that I don’t really do what you would call “passive stretching”. No matter what I always want something to be engaged- whether it’s to help get deeper in a position, or just to stabilize the stretch. This exercise is one of the few where I will actually say to relax, but even then, I still give active cues and focus on the intention. This was taken last week when @kamanienaltowska was visiting and we were focusing on things she can do for her upper back on her own. Great work, Kama!
