Happy early 4th birthday my dear son! We love you to Infinity and Beyond! . . We held a combined birthday this afternoon for him and his cousin (it was her first birthday party!). My sis @swangisme and @gabewong flew in to celebrate with us. It has been almost four incredible years of happiness with this little guy. And as much as time races by so, so quickly... It is a pace that still gives you a chance to collect these special moments. And it was a perfect weekend... just that moment to inhale in excitement, hold it for a breath and exhale into joy. . . I loved catching up with our tribe - the people who cheer our son and us on and who are the extended family life has found for us. There were his daycare teachers from his current and past daycares, other #gaydadsofinstagram (looking at you @champagnedadstyle & Holt), parents, colleagues, my pride family, friends you bump into and just can't get enough of... and a little mini tribe of children that electrified the room. And when I step back from all this... I can't think of anything I want more. . . The cakes and cupcakes were just sublime. When Stefanie from @preciousmoment.cake unveiled them this morning it was so bittersweet: of course, she would leave her most beautiful creations right for the very end... The last cakes she would create for us before returning to Indonesia... Now Stef has created our wedding cakes and every birthday cake Dylan has had since we moved to Brisbane, every big family milestone, Halloween etc. So it felt like we were losing something so integral to how we mark time... But *drumroll* all is not lost! We have her for another six more months....
