Peanut Butter PM Dawn by @trilliumbrewing. Unless you are allergic, beg, borrow, or steal to get this. By cutting back the cold brew ratio and adding a heavy dose of peanut butter, @mrtrillium and company have managed to find the finest balance of the series. An inconspicuous 10% ABV lurks below the @barringtoncoffee, which dominates the palate, but notes of roasted peanuts and dark chocolate come through to create a liquid Funny Bone aftertaste that lingers and begs for that next sip.

REVIEW: 398 BREWERY: @electricbrewingco BEER: Swinging Swords & Cutting Clowns STYLE: Double India Pale Ale RATING: 4.5/5 . Sometimes people ask me, Hey ABD, do you ever get tired of drinking Electric beers? My answer is always the same. No, no I don’t. I never get tired of them, even if they start tasting even somewhat close to similar. They’re just that enjoyable. My only complaint… their high-powered ABV always socks my skull. This one is no different. Swinging Swords & Cutting Clowns, perhaps named after the time I cut in line at Electric (or maybe that’s wishful thinking), is a double dry-hopped Double IPA brewed with a truckload of oats and 100% Galaxy hops. I know, I know. Galaxy. Y’all love Galaxy. While it’s not my absolute favorite, I can still respect single-hopped beer greatness. Leaving the can it looks ‘Electric’ - smoothie thick, murky, and bright yellowish orange. Aromas wasted no time taking it to my sensory unit(s). Tons of orange-tangerine, fresh cut pineapple rings, and peachy stone-fruit. Okay, maybe I like Galaxy more than I’ll admit. Its mouthfeel is wildly full and thick - let’s call it medium-heavy. Carbonation remains sharp and crisp as it fights for a seat at the tasting experience. Flavors, while not quite my favorite from these guys, are still very enjoyable. There’s the standard hoppy, bitter punch early via orange citrus that’s layered with peaches, pineapple, and some kind of lime-esque vibe (seriously). Toward the back-end, another wave of hoppy earth resin strikes and carried me away toward a skunky finish.
