Many years ago, in one of my first Ayahuasca ceremonies in Peru, I felt very stuck. I could feel the old me with all her conditionings and the new me at a complete impasse. I felt my inner medicine woman fully awakening and I knew I would walk a deep path with this ancient medicine but my old pattern of receiving love and belonging by being “good” was too entrenched. If I followed my path, I wouldn’t be loved. The old me took 8 years to fully yield. . Ayahuasca in all Her wisdom allowed me the space to tap dance around my power and allowed me to believe the lie of being beautiful, thin, perfect and good made me deserving of love. She watched as I let self-doubt and comparison stall my growth, “Am I doing it right?That person is more gifted then me.” . I realized recently that the ceremonies I hold, the songs that come out of my body and soul are literally my prayer. They are a living, breathing prayer. And they are my own unique medicine, just like my finger print, no one else carries the same soul medicine I carry. So I can trust that my prayer is guided by the same spirit that makes the sun rise everyday and the season change and the Earth to rotate. I can’t get it wrong because my prayer is my gift and my gift is from Spirit. And the same is true for you. I’m shedding my skin, entering into the next iteration.
