On this day two years ago I held my mom’s hand in disbelief as she took her last breath on Earth. The only thing that calms my heart is knowing that same moment, she also took her first breath in Heaven.
.
I saw this blanket from @modernburlap while I was pregnant and I had to have it. It was what I draped over us the very first time I held all three of my babies for the first time in the hospital. I’m not sure I can think of another moment when my heart ever felt so full.

Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. “And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me. (Matthew 18:3-5 )
“I’m so happy that I don’t have to “see and believing” in every aspect of my life.” - Someone, Somewhere
Humanly speaking: amen to that!
But did you ever really think about it? We actually believe without seeing every day. We believe the news on the radio or television even though we did not actually witness the events. We listen to gossip (so sad) and believe their words to be the truth.
Now, why is it that it’s just so hard to just believe in God, who is sovereign? Why is it difficult to comprehend and believe that God created the universe, is in control of everything, ordains life, loves and cares so much about you?
Psalm 139:1,3 speaks of our all-knowing God and His comprehensive knowledge. He knows us intimately. David says, "Lord, you search me out and you know me. You search my way. My lying down and my standing up.” How comforting it is to know that God loves us perfectly, and is fully aware of what we are facing today! He knows the best way to help us in all the circumstances of life. Even if we can’t see it!
Faith requires that we believe, despite not having any visual evidence.
We can't see God, but we can see His activity in our lives.
We can't see God, but we can see His power working within us.
We see what we want to see.
We choose to believe, then, we see!
Today, at our staff meeting we read through Psalm 34. This Psalm shows so much of God’s GOODNESS! ♥️ Something that stood out to me was how the Lord is always close to you. He will walk with you through your hardships and be your bodyguard. And He is ALWAYS READY to restore the repentant one. Did you hear that He is ALWAYS ready! It is never too late. He desires to restore broken relationships ALWAYS.

Let me tell you a little about my transformation. On the left, I was just shy of 200lbs - depressed, angry, self-loathing, lonely, but my life looked ok from the outside. I had a sponsorship, a following, I was traveling....I had a bunch of stuff that didn’t really matter. For years I fought in silence, but I couldn’t hide my weight which was a manifestation of the turmoil within. In 2016, I gave my life to Christ. He rescued me from the pit of darkness to bring me into freedom. I had lived in shame and He showed me that all my pain was going to be used for good. He helped me find great freedom in my physical appearance while I was still overweight. My focus wasn’t fixed on how I looked anymore, but how I felt. I had been so enslaved to exercise and eating (both restrictive and binge eating) that all I wanted was to live in freedom. I allowed the Lord to speak identity into my life because I couldn’t afford to believe my thoughts anymore. Thoughts like you’re fat, you’re ugly, no one likes you, you’re not worth it, you’ll never become anything. I began to listen to what He thinks about me - I’m beautiful. I’m loved. I’m worthy. I’m powerful. I’m made in His image...He brought life to me.
In the middle picture, still weighing in at ~172lbs (which was 25lbs heavier than my “normal”), I was confident in who I was. He showed me that my identity is not in my weight or appearance. Now my fitness journey is one that strives toward ongoing freedom for myself and for others. Currently ~143lbs, I, physically, feel my best. But the reason I’m posting this is because we need to know that our freedom and joy is not attached to looking the way we want to. Our freedom is found in knowing WHO we are!! That person in the left picture is not who I am! I have been transformed from the inside out. My physical body is only a manifestation of the goodness happening within, which is Christ in me. #toliveisChrist #soldoutforJesus #icantbesilentanymore #Heisgood #glorytoglory #transformationtuesday #HeistheWay
Christians are dead in the sense that the old unbelieving self (the flesh) has died. In its place is a new creation. What makes it new is faith. Not just a backward-looking belief in the death of Jesus, but a forward-looking belief in the promises of Jesus. Not just being sure of what he did do, but also being satisfied with what he will do.⠀
⠀
With all eternity hanging in the balance, we fight the fight of faith. Our chief enemy is the lie that says sin will make our future happier. Our chief weapon is the truth that says God will make our future happier. And faith is the victory that overcomes the lie, because faith is satisfied with God.⠀
⠀
The challenge before us, then, is not merely to do what God says because he is God, but to desire what God says because he is good. The challenge is not merely to pursue righteousness, but to prefer righteousness. The challenge is to get up in the morning and prayerfully meditate on the Scriptures until we experience joy and peace in believing the “precious and very great promises” of God (Romans 15:13; 2 Peter 1:4). With this joy set before us, the commandments of God will not be burdensome (1 John 5:3), and the compensation of sin will appear too brief and too shallow to lure us.⠀
