it’s a soul companion... || Honnêtement? J’aurais aimé pouvoir publier l’une des créations du Festival MURAL de Montréal, mais comme vous tous, mes journées n’ont que 24 heures, et mes publications sont souvent le fruit de mes ballades quotidiennes dictées par le trio métro-boulot-dodo dont on n’échappe si peu souvent, malgré un désir féroce d’assister à TOUT ce qui se passe à Montréal pendant la période estivale | aouvent, j’aimerais pouvoir “skipper” le sommeil pour pouvoir profiter de chaque événement... et dormir le reste de l’année... bref, une ourse qui gobe les festivals comme les petits fruits, telle une gourmande citadine | en attendant que mon rêve animal se concrétise, voici une murale quand même sur la coche de mon hood, j’ai nommé la belle Pointe-Saint-Charles... ENJOY!
The Science Behind The #Halasana
No amount of words could describe the love I have for this asana, but let's give it a try. I'm inspired specially because I practiced it on my regular classes tonight and yesterday, after having quite a stressful although exciting and wonderful working weekend.
Just like the other yoga poses, the Halasana or #Plow_Pose is named so because the basic shape of the pose resembles a typical plow used in Tibet and India. The plow is also a mythical symbol featured in many stories from Tibet, China, India, and Egypt. It might be interesting to know that King Janaka found a beautiful baby girl as he was plowing the field. He adopted her and named her Sita. She grew up and married Rama. This story goes to show how the plow is used to uncover #hidden_treasures. Practicing the plow pose will do that for your body. This asana is one of the finishing poses that you will do right from the beginning in yoga. But only once your feet touch the ground, it becomes an advanced pose.
Practicing this asana regularly #rejuvenates and #nurtures your entire body. Halasana increases the blood flow and the suppleness in the lumbar and thoracic regions in the body, and also #releases stress and tension in the throat and neck. If there is an accumulation of mucous or phlegm in the respiratory system or the sinuses, this asana helps to flush it all out.
Halasana heals and calms the sympathetic nervous system. It helps to #balance the secretions in the glands, specifically thyroxine and adrenaline. It also removes toxins from the urinary and digestive tracts.
It massages the digestive organs, improves digestion, regulates appetite, metabolism and helps in weight loss.
It is an excellent for diabetic patients because it normalizes the blood sugar levels.
It flexes the spinal cord and releases the strain in the back, thereby enhancing posture and reducing any pain.
It reduces #stress and fatigue, also helping you to calm your brain.
It gives the spine and shoulders a good #stretch.
