“What is done cannot be undone, but one can prevent it happening again.”
Remembering Anne Frank, on what would have been her 90th birthday.
Since her death aged 15 during the Holocaust, Anne’s diary has held history to account and will continue to do so for generations to come.
Today, @gettyarchive marks her extraordinary legacy with a look into the collection of the Anne Frank Fond, which houses the family’s personal archive.

The nuragic sanctuary of Santa Cristina is an archaeological area located in Paulilatino, in the province of Oristano.
The sacred well, whose construction can be placed around the 11th century BC it is enclosed by a tèmenos, an elliptical enclosure that separates the sacred area from the profane one, which surrounds another one in the shape of a "lock", inside which the well is located. In the sacred structure and in its vicinity there was special tradition of water worship performed.

A man who made his life - and latterly death - into a surreal work of art, Salvador Dalí was born 115 years ago today.
Using his remarkable gifts as a painter, the Catalan-born artist subverted the visual language of Renaissance masters to create works for the modern age, heavy with psychological symbolism.
In this 1961 portrait taken in Venice, Dalí appears typically flamboyant yet flippant, the fringe of the gondola’s cushion mirroring his own famous moustache.

An icon: Chanel No.5 was first released on the fifth day of the fifth month in 1921, developed by the French fashion designer Coco and the perfumer Ernest Beaux.
Marilyn Monroe, when asked what she wore to bed, famously responded with a simple “Chanel No.5”.
The actress is pictured here with the celebrated fragrance bottle at the Ambassador Hotel in New York, 1955.

"Brama Wrocławska zbudowana została z cegieł na początku XIV wieku.️ Do XVI wieku była dwupiętrowa. Później dodano jej kolejne kondygnacje. W II połowie XIX wieku w bramie wykuto przejścia dla pieszych. Przez bramę wiedzie ulica Wrocławska ⚔️. Jest to jedyna zachowana wieża bramna z czterech, które niegdyś wiodły do miasta."
