Blessed feast! We began the morning celebrating Palm Sunday, the public celebration of the arrival of the Messiah and ended the day with Bridegroom Matins, the mourning of His coming crucifixion. A day so filled with such opposing feelings. .
.
Behold the Bridegroom comes at midnight, And blessed is the servant whom He shall find watching, And again unworthy is the servant whom He shall find heedless. Beware, therefore, O my soul, do not be weighed down with sleep, Lest you be given up to death and lest you be shut out of the Kingdom. But rouse yourself crying: Holy, Holy, Holy, are You, O our God!
.
Through the prayers of the holy Fathers, Lord Jesus Christ have mercy upon us and save us. .

Today the Sacrament of Holy Unction is offered. The primary theme of Holy Wednesday is our need for the healing and forgiveness that comes into our lives when we establish a relationship with God through #Jesus Christ. We are reminded that the way to this relationship is to be found, above all else, through the life of prayer. In the Sacrament of Holy Unction, the faithful are anointed and thus, healed both physically and spiritually. They are also reconciled to God and one another so that they might receive the gift of the Holy Eucharist instituted by Christ at the Last Supper. Blessed Holy Thursday to all of you! We dyed our eggs after Liturgy this morning and are now heading to the monastery for yet another powerful Holy Week service. ❤️☦️ I love this week and the anticipation that builds as we get closer and closer to proclaiming Christ is Risen!! -
According to tradition, during a dinner with the emperor Tiberius Caesar, Mary Magdalene was speaking about Christ's Resurrection. Caesar scoffed at her, saying that a man could rise from the dead no more than the egg in her hand could turn red. Immediately, the egg turned red. Because of this, icons of Mary Magdalene sometimes depict her holding a red egg. This is why Orthodox Christians dye their eggs red for Pascha—the new Passover.
Do you know why we stamp out the candle with Meqomia at the end of Good Friday service inside the church? .
On the cross After Jesus' soul left His body (meaning after he died) his soul went to hades to release all of the souls that were there which was everyone since Adam & Eve. .
.
Christ came down in front of them and Adam said "tensiu letselot" and the people in hell said "Egzio tesehalene" (God have mercy) and then Christ said "Peace be unto you" and they said "and with Thy Spirit" and He took the righteous to paradise & freed them all from the authority of the devil and death and Christ reigned victorious. .
.
So we all hit the candle with the Meqomia saying " Yehuda we we-wiludu yidemsis" "May Judas and His generation be erased" and we put out the fire on the candle to signify that Jesus extinguished the fire from satan because he has no authority over us through the death & resurrection of Christ. .
.
Then we sing "Nisebiho leEgziabhare" meaning "Let's Praise God" we Glorify God coming to save us, for setting us free through His Blood shed and Holy Resurection and giving us new life in Him.
