These Kiwanos have to be the most exotic edible that I have grown this year. They have many names such as Jelly melons , African Horned cucumbers and Hedged gourds to name but a few ! But due to their extremely spiky skin which makes them literally a pain to handle I have another name for them that is too rude to say here ! Haha I have just popped a garden update video on my YouTube channel ( find the link on my profile page ) which includes these unusual fruit.

All about aloe! Isn't it gorgeous?!
.
We are all likely familiar with the healing properties of aloe vera for our skin, such as to heal sunburns, scars, and eczema - but did you know aloe can also heal other plants? It sure can... and really, really well! Aloe vera contains plant hormones, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and other compounds that do everything from enhance root development and prevent transplant shock, to boost plants immune systems to better fight disease or stress like drought.
.
"How to Grow & Use Aloe: In the Garden & Beyond!" was just added to Homestead and Chill. Come learn (and watch!) how we make a fresh aloe vera soil drench for newly transplanted seedlings in the garden. You'll also learn how to grow and propagate aloe, more about why it's so badass, how to make foliar sprays, and a little about human use for healing skin too.
.
We use aloe in and on just about everything, including as part of our routine cannabis plant care. In other good news, aloe is easy to grow in containers and makes for a great house plant! Even if you don't have access to fresh aloe, I have suggestions for you.
