Sometimes we need to be humbled before we are elevated. There is so much within humility. The opposite of humility is pride and often some of the deepest roots of ungodliness within us are rooted in pride. No matter how much we have or how much we are blessed, if we still have deposits of pride within in - we cannot fully walk in what God intended us to walk in. We cannot carry and retain the pure gift that He has given us. We cannot pour onto others as freely and as impacting as we possibly could. Pride stirred into our being will make us more easily offended, make us hold onto unforgiveness for a lifetime, make us fear having to step down in order to step up. Pride will make you want to gain for yourself not to give back. Pride will make a lot into not enough. Pride will make you look at how you are not at the next level instead of operating with joy at the level God has placed you. Pride will eat away at your life and diminish any accomplishment. Pride will keep you bound to an image rather than a God given mission. Humility allows us to see we are not better or worse than anyone. Humility will allow you to connect with anyone as you share many of the same human emotions. Humility will strip you of any arrogance, impatience and uncompassion towards others because you know what it’s like to be at the bottom and as long as you live you will be a hand that pulls others up not points to judge. We cannot truly fully serve without complete utter humility. Sometimes we need to be humbled before we are elevated, and thank God for that ❤️ : “For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Luke 14:11

Pursuing a calling to enter into the religious life, can be difficult for many. Sometimes, we don’t quite understand how attached we are to certain worldly things, until we feel the tug in our conscience to give it up, and then we are naturally inclined from fallen nature, to desire to follow the will of ourselves, rather than desire the will of God. ———————————————————— But at certain times, when one comes to terms that perhaps it is what God is currently calling them to do and they give up the fight against one’s own self, nothing else matters in the world, other than following what He requests, allowing His unique calling for you to be used as a tool for joyful penance, fasting, and prayer, to become a servant to others, by first becoming a servant of His, if it be His will you are in the world or completely detached from the world. In essence, such a higher calling is an honor, yet it’s something so necessary, as so few are willing to die to themselves for the reason of a better humanity, to desire holiness in others, which is how we have our Saints to begin with, because they had someone to suffer for them to help them out of their sinfulness.
