Human Design: Body, Mind and Spirit Integration
Wow! Huge response to yesterday’s post on Human Design. A number of people were already familiar with it and mentioned how helpful it had been for them and lots more people expressed interest in going further down the rabbit hole with this topic. So here we go!
This week I’ll do a series of posts highlighting the different elements of the Human Design Mandala and then I think I’ll do a webinar and show you some examples of it in action. (Would that be helpful? I heard someone say yes. ;)) So, firstly, as you can see from yesterday’s post, this mandala has a beautiful symmetry. And this image in today’s post is a close up of some of the hexagrams. As you can see, there are 64 hexagrams with each hexagram has 6 lines. Similarly, there are 64 codons of DNA and 6 groups of amino acid.
As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, there are some researchers, scientists and philosophers who believe this is not a coincidence and that the I Ching’s mathematical structure is, in fact, a form of biological mathematics. Why does this matter and how does knowing this help us?
One thing that observing biological systems at work (and studying functional medicine and Chinese medicine) has taught me is that biological systems are not isolated by walls or arbitrary divisions of systems. Western medicine puts a lot of emphasis on the cardiovascular system or the endocrine system or the nervous system or digestive system, etc.
But the reality is it’s all one system. They all talk to one another and influence one another and provide positive and negative feedback for one another. How does all that work? On the cellular level, a cell is a collection of branching systems that communicates by sending out signals of communication to other cells. DNA has all the instructions for doing so.
Biological cooperation always leads to adaptation and adjustments for survival and evolution. In other words, there’s a lot of random activity that has been conditioned over millions of years to to anticipate certain outcomes or probabilities. The I Ching is a tool for helping to understand those probabilities.

Divination is a great practice for spiritual guidance.⠀
⠀
Instead of being a "magic message," divination in actuality connects you to your intuition. The message you receive through interpreting divinatory symbols is an intuitive message on what actions you need to take to move in the right direction spiritually.⠀
⠀
Essentially it's your spirit guide (which speaks to you through intuition) communicating to you in the form of symbols.⠀
⠀
Anyone else practice divination? Let me know in the comments!⠀

The Tao is the “something” that existed before time and space, about which we can know nothing, … As a word the Tao literally translates as “the path” or “the way”, and refers to the natural laws of the universe, and the natural flow of change… We call it Tao, but we cannot correctly name it, because names define and limit, and the “something” which we call Tao is undefinable and limitless… This “something” called Tao is the origin of the universe and its working… The Tao is the unity that is the mother of the duality of forces (“Yang” the active force, and “Yin” the passive force) that is the physical universe and all things in it. In western physics the yang force (active force) is “Energy”, and the yin force (passive force) is “Gravity”… Sir Isaac Newton’s third law of motion states that, “for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction” … the “action force” is ENERGY (Yang, the active force of Tao), and the equal and opposite “reaction force” is Gravity (Yin, the passive force of Tao)… they are equal and opposite… one cannot exist without the other… This is the duality of the Universe.
THE CADUCEUS… The two snakes represent the Ida (YIN), and Pingala (YANG) forming a double helix, spiraling around a staff which represents the spine or central meridian of the body. The heads of the snakes represents the two lobes of the brain. The flow of YIN-YANG spiraling around the central meridian, is inducing “Prana” (Qi force) in the central meridian which is rising up through the spine. The wings at the top represent the enlightened soul taking flight. The double helix of the snakes can also represent the YIN-YANG of the two strands of DNA of the fertilized egg, while the staff and wings represent the life force (the Qi force) that the two strands are inducing. Showing that the body itself is a larger fractal (same geometry on a larger scale) of the single cell. The same applies to the known universe, the YIN-YANG principle is happening in the whole structure as well as in every single cell like a giant Holo-fractal system.

Yoga significa unión. Unión de cuerpo mente, emociones, acciones y espíritu. ♀
Es vivir consciente y activamente tu vida, sabiendo que compartimos mucho más que nuestro ADN.
La ilusión más dañina para tu espíritu es la de separación. Provenimos de la misma fuente, somos luz.

What is ADVANCED WITCHCRAFT? + BOOK recommendations | The other day, @thornthewitch made an interesting video about advanced witchcraft and what it even is - what do you consider to be an advanced book? I highly recommend that video, she makes great points about the difficulties of defining what "advanced" is in a practice as varied as witchcraft. So many paths...

For me, my entry into deeper magical knowledge was Tarot. It's still absolutely my main interest and the system of Tarot is my guide into so many different wisdom teachings. Whether it's the I Ching, Astrology, the Qabbala, Alchemy or anything else. I love studying structures that convey wisdom or universal knowledge.
.
Here are some books I like with regards to that - keep in mind these may not seem advanced to you, depending on your level of knowledge and where you started your practice - they certainly took my knowledge and practice a step further back when I read them:
- 78 Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack (Nice entry into using the Major Arcana as a gateway into other wisdom teachings/religions/traditions)
- Tarot and Astrology by Corrine Kenner (if astrology seems overwhelming, but you know a fair bit about Tarot, this is perfect)
- The Black Arts by Richard Cavendish (hesitant to recommend this because it is VERY much a child of its time - the 60s - and doesn't cite sources very well. But it's a summary of occult thinking and how they relate to other wisdom teachings/ceremonial traditions)
- The I Ching - Translated by David Hinton AND the Tao Te Ching (working with and reading the I Ching in a beautiful, poetic translation by David Hinton is always helpful for me. It's like remembering some universal truth. I can't speak for older translations that may be more anti-femininity.)
- anything by C. G. Jung if you're into psychological witchcraft / psychospirituality
- Traditional Wicca by Thorn Mooney (as a solitary witch, this book was highly interesting to clear out some of my misconceptions about group practice - and while I still do not practice with others, it's important to widen your horizons and try out different perspectives.
