Admins Note: This is the second part of my three part series of Wanda's letters that shes writing to her siblings. For @destructivedamsel Dear Geneva, I'm writing this letter to give to you on a day you really need it. My dearest little bird. Do not forget how much I wished for you. The day Mama and Papa brought you home was one of the best days in my young life. I had begged for a sister, and then one day there you, the smallest little squirming bundle of life in Mama's arms. I was enthralled by your very existence, I was finally a big sister! I remember reaching my hand and your tiny hand grasped my finger. It was in that moment that I vowed I would protect from the cruelty of the world around us. I tried so hard Neva…I really did. Perhaps that was my downfall for awhile after the bombings and we lost our parents. Maybe I tried too hard to be your mother instead of just being your sister…and it strained our relationship for awhile and for that I am truly sorry. I just wanted to keep you safe, just like I had promised mamă and Tată that I would. We all had to grow up so fast. It wasn’t fair but we made the best of it. I’m thankful for the small moments Pietro and I were able to give you in Sokovia that let you feel as if you still could be a child…even if only for a few hours sometimes. I will always be proud of you no matter what. Never forget, it is my greatest joy being your big sister, no matter the arguments and disagreements we have Geneva. You may just be my half sister by blood…but you are my full sister in my eyes. My fondest memory will always be the ones seeing your eyes light up after Pietro returning to us and my favorite sound will always be hearing your laughter across the hall once more. Stay strong for me little bird. You’ve always been fighter so do not give up. Things may be hard now, but they can’t stay this way forever. And last but not least, never doubt the love that Pietro and I share for. Let that be something that gives you strength during life’s battles. Always and always, Wanda
