UPDATE & weight warning: I’m sorry I haven’t posted much & kept y’all updated lately! It’s been a hectic week. Last Friday, my tube got completely clogged and I couldn’t push anything through it. We decided to wait until my GI appt Monday because if it needed to be replaced they would admit me & we’d be sitting in the hospital. I was able to drink some fluids and eat a little. When we got to the GI doc, she said that since my nerve block and surgery to fix my MALS is going to be at least another couple of months, she recommended a GJ tube be placed for longer term nutrition. So, they admitted me Monday. The doctors here refuse to place a tube until I gain some weight (About 10 lbs) and I’m able to tolerate feeds better. I’m unable to run them at the full rate, when I do run it I get extremely sick. That being said, they decided to keep me to monitor me and get nausea and pain under control. I’m not able to run @ full yet, but we’re slowly trying to get there. My POTS is also acting up again. I’m very lightheaded and I’m not able to move around much. My body doesn’t like to keep its temp, so one second I’ll be freezing and another I’ll be burning up! I’m also dehydrated despite drinking the right amount (gotta love POTS) We also have to get motility and bowel stuff under control. Idk how long they’re keeping me tbh, it’s probably going to be a while, which makes me sad but at the same time I know I’m under good care. This hospital is much better than the other one I used to go to. I am working back up, but it’s taking time. Happy Mother’s Day! I have no idea how my mom does it all, seriously she is the strongest person I know who has to deal with a lot on top of my illness. Through it all she has stayed positive. She’s helped me grow closer to God and has been a shoulder to cry on. She is so selfless and always puts others before herself. I wanted to take my mom out today, but the past day has been one of the hardest pain days I’ve had. You know the pain is bad when you can’t remember the day before other than you crying and screaming. My MALS pain has flared back up to the MAX and I literally felt like I was dying. All of my symptoms hit me like a train all at once and I was so out of it all day yesterday I couldn’t even form a sentence. It’s truly terrifying but God has really helped me stay calm although pain episodes are scary. I ended up having to take some of my strong pain meds, which I try not to do unless I absolutely need them. They help me sleep, which really is the only escape when my pain flares up. I have an appt Monday to get things checked out. I haven’t been able to get out of bed today, which is crap because I wanted to go to church and take my mom somewhere nice! :( When we’re ill, we tend to feel like a burden. I constantly apologize to my mom for having to take up her time with all of my medical needs. Most of her days revolve on taking me to doctors appts and distracting me from pain, and she rarely has time for herself! I used to be a very independent person, but being sick has made it to where I have to rely on others for certain needs. I’m still struggling with not being in control of my life, and it’s so hard having to adjust. Anyways, a huge thank you to my mom for being my advocate and fighting for my medical needs. She is constantly on the phone with doctors trying to find the best of the best that won’t break the bank! I love u mom♥️ (PS we’re having a hard time finding a skilled doc for my MALS nerve block who does ped patients, so prayers are needed. The sooner I get the block the sooner i can hopefully get surgery. I know God has a plan but I’m really down in the dumps about it, and living with this pain everyday really wears a person down)
