Stygiomedusa gigantea •Distribution: It is believed to be widespread throughout the world. •Lifespan: Unknown. •Size: The jellyfish has an umbrella-shaped bell that can be up to a metre wide. It also has four "paddle-like" arms up to 10 metres long. •Diet: The diet of Stygiomedusa is unknown, although it is assumed to be carnivorous (due to a lack of photosynthetic organs) or possibly a scavenger. •Conservation status: Data deficient. •Dangerous?: Not to humans. •Did you know?: There has only been 115 sightings in the last 110 years it is a jellyfish that is rarely seen.
