Paris for the "Know Your Status" campaign for the 2018 Lifeball!
KNOW YOUR STATUS:
A year-round awareness campaign ensures that the dangers of HIV and AIDS remain in the public eye even after the ball. National and international stars had their picture taken with the LIFE+ patch and encouraged others to get tested for HIV as well. The goal of our KNOW YOUR STATUS campaign is to prevent HIV infections or detect them early on.

The butterfly, which represents transformation, is the UNAIDS symbol for zero discrimination.
In many countries, laws discriminate against people simply because of who they are. Stigma and discrimination risk the health, dignity and well-being of people vulnerable to HIV.
For instance, in 2018 at least 20 countries imposed travel restrictions of some form against people living with HIV. And around 29 countries required the consent of a woman’s husband to access sexual health services.
Changing laws that deny people's human rights and fundamental freedoms is everyone's responsibility. On Friday's #ZeroDiscrimination Day and every day, join UNAIDS and #StandUp4HumanRights and ensure that the laws in your country treat everyone equally.

U=U undetectable means Untransmittable! While having HIV, you might look and feel perfectly healthy, but simply feeling fine isn’t a good indicator of what your viral load looks like. The only way to know that you are undetectable or remaining healthy, is through regular viral load monitoring. It is important to get monitored every 3-4 months by a simple blood test. A blood test will also show how well antiretroviral treatment is working at protecting your immune system from other potential illnesses.
You will still test positive for HIV if you are undetectable. People living with HIV who are undetectable still have antibodies to HIV which means you will test positive for HIV even if you have an undetectable viral load. If you are NOT in an undetectable viral load range... you can still transmit HIV. #hiv #undetectablehiv #untransmittable #bloodtest #gettested #knowyourstatus #aidsawareness #enjoythelittlethings #behealthy #stayhealthy #raiseawareness #gigicafe #
Today, on National Black HIV Awareness Day, let's strengthen our commitment to working together to help fight the stigma against HIV and end its disparate impact on the Black community. While focused prevention efforts have helped to decrease its effects on Black women and men across the globe, there is still work to be done. Know your status, get tested and help end the stigma against HIV #BlackHIVAwarenessDay #EndTheStigma #HIV #KnowYourStatus (: @unaidsglobal)
