Game of Thrones . With the final series now ended I went back to the first episode of series 1 and binge watched the whole lot again. The landscape scenes used in Game of Thrones is truly some of the most glorious I have seen. I've read that Game of Thrones prequel is or maybe filmed on the Isle of Skye, now that will be something. Seeing these landscapes made me have a look through my archives to see if anything would have the feel of the series. This one was shot I made of the three lochs in Glen More on the Isle of Mull. The sky that particular day was quite foreboding with just small pools of light penetrating to light the landscape with interesting light. Dramatic skies and land are really well filmed in the series and offer some great inspiration for the landscape photographer. Dreamy Images . ➡️➡️ Swipe ➡️➡️ . Experimenting with aperture settings is good practice. Shooting the same scene at different f-stops to alter the depth of field will change the overall feel of the image. Once back in the digital darkroom you can choose which works best. This shot was from a recent trip to a blubell woodland near Plymouth after the location was given to me by @_mg_photo I had seen the bench in a previous image and set up my own composition. The blubells by this time had died back somewhat which was a shame. I had a dreamy kind of thought in my mind for the scene so a wide aperture would give a shallow depth of field making much of the image soft. The image was processed first in lightroom and then in nik effects pro by applying a midnight filter. . That's how the image was shot and processed. Inner Hope . Yesterday was a gorgeous day here in the southwest of England but stuck behind a desk working most of it I was biting at the bit to get out and make the most of the afternoon delight. Now I'm thinking there's a song there somewhere. . So a quick call to my other half who was at the Paington Air Display having a fun day while I was working we decided to meet up at Hope Cove. We had visited there in winter with a view to return later in the summer. There are two parts to the village Inner & Outer Hope. The inner part of the village has some scrumptious (yes I think I like that word) thatched cottages to photograph. This was the only shot I made before having dinner overlooking the harbour. Unfortunately the clouds rolled in to the west late on scuppering any worthwhile end of day light which was a shame after the gorgeous day we had had.
