I hope this padding will prevent damage to the paintjob better. For faster access, the loop opens to the side. As a safety, I used a cut-down hand drill. I really like that it resembles a safety pin from a hand grenade Taking out the hammer that way is a loot faster compared to having to pull it out through a closed loop. This is important to me because I want to be able to change from crossbow to warhammer and shield during battle. I didn't think it would work so well: A quick demonstration of how I can draw bolt after bolt out of my crossbow bolt bag. I made a beret out of linen as a substitute for Rex' woollen hat that is getting a little too hot under the summer sun. I guess my face shows that I'm not totally convinced myself - I might as well be Jean-Rex Picard, from a wineyard in Toussaint I guess I'll rather suffer the heat as long as I can and use this beret if a quick stand-in NPC is needed. Anyway, on the vest you can see that I finished embroidering one side with a chevron stitch.
