Let’s talk wispy! Wispy sets are some of my absolute fave sets to do. I get a lot of questions on how to create this style. When I first started to do them, I assumed you just mixed different sizes & curls all over. A year later, I now realize it does take strategic mapping and planning to make a good wispy/strip look set. . . For example, ▪️ longest points shouldn’t go on the top layer of the NL (makes that one lash look extremely out of place) ▪️the curlier/ shorter extensions should go on top (gives the double layer look) ▪️ the long points should be 2-3mm longer than the lashes in that section of the lid ▪️ marking the longest points with the client’s eye open first is better because it accentuates their specific eye shape . . This looks takes time, practice, and a whole lot of experimenting to get it right. Even I’m still finding new techniques & looks to do in the wispy category. Hope that helps a bit. ... being a lash artist is a very tedious thing to do and is not cut out for just anyone. Many of us have encountered people who want their lashes done for ridiculously cheap prices. Cheap should not be the first thing in mind to anyone who wants their lashes done professionally because it’s your EYES that you’re dealing with. An experienced tech is a big factor and should be important to begin with. DO YOUR RESEARCH LADIES!!! Many people think it’s best to spend less or that most techs are “over priced” but in reality, to maintain healthy and longer lasting lash extensions you’ll end up spending more (this is the price we pay for beauty as women.) Fills should be done every 2-3 weeks to keep lashes full. Also, to narrow it down, most people don’t realize one thing... not everyone has the patience to sit for a couple hours and apply single extensions to each lash strand carefully while using proper techniques. If you didn’t know, now you know. Everyone is different but this is just some advice from a certified lash tech. This is to all my other lash techs who love what they do and are good at it too! I don’t understand why I’m hearing lash techs telling their clients that classic lashes don’t look good and they should do a hybrid or volume set instead... maybe they don’t know how to properly apply classics or achieve full coverage As hard as it is to do a volume set, classics are tricky too. It’s all about placement, direction and coverage. One wonky lash and you’ll be able to see that in a classic set. It’s easier to hide crooked lashes in a volume set because of the fullness.
