I'm not sure how I feel about this iris, but painting it gave me some prime time to really chew on some thoughts and ideas that were whirling around inside my head. First please forgive the focus on this- ok here is a little leaves tutorial! A few things to keep in mind: 1. You can either outline your leaves and fill them in OR do the leaf in one brushstroke by pushing down to use the full belly of the brush. 2. Don’t forget to drop in water or paint for interesting value change and texture 3. For thin stem lines use liiight pressure - not too much water on your brush- and a more vertical hold.
