This was the last time the moustache was seen in public Such a great night on Friday for @shaw_mind’s charity ball. As always it’s such an honour to share my story. Go give them a follow as they’re doing some amazing work @shaw_mind, and so is @maleanxietydepression who’s out-staging me in this photo. The majority of you will be glad to know the 70’s porn star look has gone
Here’s a clip of my interview on @bbcnews yesterday, talking about mental health in young people.
-
For me, the biggest thing I wanted to get across is how important mental health education is. We need to focus on early intervention, teaching young people how to deal with their mental health, rather than ignoring it and having to react to support a young person when they’ve hit rock bottom.
-
Schools need to stop fixating on academic intelligence and instead focus on emotional intelligence. Too many young people shockingly die by suicide every year, and it’s time we did something about it. -

Happy Friday & Exam day!! ❤️
.
Throwing it back to the #BakeforBeat bake sale I organised last year with the help of some incredible ladies & gents that raised over £1200 for Beat, the UK’s leading ED charity.
.
I feel like this EDAW has been the best yet on instagram with so many people doing amazing things to silence the stigma!
.
Instagram is a space where eating disorders can be triggered or perpetuated but equally an important space that can be used for prevention, awareness & recovery!! We need to do more of the latter!
.
Like I mentioned on Monday, even if not experiencing an eating disorder directly the likelihood is we will ALL be affected at some point in our lifetime. It’s important to keep the conversation going!
.
I can’t believe I thought my exam was 9am and it’s actually 3:30pm lucky I double checked yesterday Looking forward to getting it over and done with and then escaping on an adventure this weekend and I cannot wait.
.
P.s. Happy March 1st! That crept up quick.

New blog post ✨ Lifting the lid on the #miscarriage taboo. It affects everyone in different ways, whether you’re the losing mum, a partner, a friend or relative. I’ve put together a post focusing around what not to say, but more to provide clarity on the why. I hope this gives some support, and even if to just one person reading it then my job is done. ✔️ For visual representation for the gram I’ve chosen this photo wearing my @happybobkatstudios backpack promoting their “Your Shoes” project - and a promise - to always remember that you’ve never been in someone elses shoes and they have never been in yours. We all walk through many different situations, each one of us unique in the way we cope and handle those. This project can be a reminder to be kind to yourself as well. ✨ Link in bio. X

AWARENESS
.
Such a privilege to speak about Eating Disorder to teachers and pupils at North London Collegiate school yesterday as part of their mental health conference.
.
Challenging the stigma around mental illness,
helping educate young people on navigating social media, building resilience and spotting diet culture and food fads is an area I feel hugely strongly about.
.
My biggest message I always share is please don’t be afraid to reach out for help. One of the few things we can be certain of is that early intervention improves outcomes. Whether it’s a friend, teacher, family member, GP or helpline there is always someone who is is there to listen and who can help. ❤️

Throwback to eating doughnuts in sunny New York because I just needed to remind myself of what it feels like to be in a billion degrees

I've teamed up with @shaw_mind as part of their series on #liftingthelid on the stigma associated with mental illness.
.
Evidence shows that early intervention for eating disorders improves outcomes, with the threshold set at 3yrs. ‼️
.
Shockingly in the UK, adults are waiting on average 3 and 1/2 years between first onset of symptoms and treatment‼️
.
Some barriers include:
❌Lack of awareness about eating disorders.
❌Stigma ❌An individuals reluctance to change due to the power of the ED and seemingly positive benefits it confers.
❌Slow GP referrals - waiting lists / the issue of weight / BMI. ❌Lack of funding .
⚠️These key areas urgently need addressing! .
It is important to remember however, that whilst early intervention improves outcomes and individual can recover from an eating disorder at any time and any age. .
I've shared an account of my experience over on the Shaw Mind facebook page as well as some tips.

I don’t know about you guys but it feels like it’s been a pretty long week and I’ve definitely had a few ups and downs along the way. That said, I’ve just got back from the most amazing breakfast hosted by charity @shaw_mind where we’ve been discussing #liftingthelid on mental illness. The importance of our mental health cannot be understated and it’s ok to talk about it and reach out for support.
.
Will definitely be sharing more on this in a bit and also was so great to meet some inspiring people changing the game in how we speak about mental health. ❤️
