I guess I like doing things for other kids who are sick. So I wanted to donate my hair to wigs for kids, for the kids that have cancer. Yesterday I chopped off my long locks to donate to Little Princess Trust ( @officiallittleprincesstrust ) which provides free, real hair wigs to children experiencing hair loss. Feeling charitable If you haven’t heard of it, there is a wonderful charity called @littleprincesstrust where they take real hair donations and make them into lovely wigs for sick children who sadly lose their hair to illness/treatment. Did you know...we need financial donations as well as hair donations, in order to fund the actual manufacturing of our wigs? Every penny that you can raise, really does count. However, if you are not able to fundraise, we are still very appreciative of your hair donation! In addition to our free wig provision, we fund research into finding better treatments for childhood cancers. Since 2016, we have awarded £2,200,000 across 27 pioneering projects into many types of cancer, including neuroblastoma, leukaemia, teenage and young adult brain tumours, Wilms' and rhabdomyosarcoma. This incredible opportunity has only been made possible as a result of the phenomenal work that you, our fantastic fundraisers, do. #ThankfulThursday⁣ ⁣ When hair donations arrive at our office, they are sorted into colour and length before being sent to our factory to be made into wigs. ⁣ ⁣ It usually takes between 8-10 hair donations to make one wig. ⁣ ⁣ We make wigs in 3 lengths: 4-6", 8-10" and 12-14". These are the starter lengths, as when they are fitted, they are customised to the wig recipient's specifications. (For example, a 4-6" wig may be cut much shorter if desired). ⁣ ⁣ The wigs are not gender-specific; they are tailor-made to the wig recipient's desired style. #littleprincesstrust

I made the brave decision to donate almost 30cm of my hair to @officiallittleprincesstrust to make free wigs for children who lose their hair through cancer and other illnesses . I grew my hair so i can be part of this. Things that we consider insignificant, can change someone else’s life for the better, then why don’t we do it? I’m fortunate enough to be able to grow my hair more and i hope it makes whichever a little princess who receives it, feel happy and pretty‍♀️✨ .
