Or better yet someone who loves the game so much that they rather stay in the gym for a few more minutes or hours instead of showing that same drive, determination and dedication in the books or studying…

A student athlete puts his best foot forward.. I put my weak foot forward and feel like I have failed my self if not my teammates, coach, family and the people who was always supporting me…
Expectations were high but I didn’t reach those standards..now I am sitting here not even crying nor sad be cause their is nobody else to blame except myself…now all I can do is get my grades and expect to hit the court next fall…

Only being real with yourself will define who you really are within.. First Lesson Of Being a Student-Athlete ”Lessons learned while Sidelined..” I had to swallow my pride instead of hiding and owning up to my mistakes and fuck ups. Face the fear of being embarrassed by self. People would walk up to me in games and “why aren’t you out there”
Having my teammates say “we could of won with you out there”
“You’re selfish”
“We could have won with you v.s _________”
At first i took all the blame and doubt. Depression kicked in many times. With a whole lot of “if I was out there’s” and then I realized my worth as well as knowing some young adults relied on me and couldn’t fill the missing gaps between my effort and l.. #makeadecision
