É agora ou nunca: A Hierarquia de necessidades de Maslow (conhecida como pirâmide de Maslow), é uma divisão hierárquica proposta por Abraham Maslow, em que as necessidades de nível mais baixo devem ser satisfeitas antes das necessidades de nível mais alto[1]. Cada um tem de "escalar" uma #hierarquia de necessidades para atingir a sua auto-realização. #Maslow define um conjunto de cinco necessidades descritas na pirâmide: . . - necessidades fisiológicas (básicas), tais como a fome, a sede, o sono, o sexo, a excreção, o abrigo; -necessidades de segurança, que vão da simples necessidade de sentir-se seguro dentro de uma casa a formas mais elaboradas de segurança como um emprego estável, um plano de saúde ou um seguro de vida; -necessidades sociais ou de amor, afeto, afeição e sentimentos tais como os de pertencer a um grupo ou fazer parte de um clube; -necessidades de estima, que passam por duas vertentes, o reconhecimento das nossas capacidades pessoais e o reconhecimento dos outros face à nossa capacidade de adequação às funções que desempenhamos; -necessidades de auto-realização, em que o indivíduo procura tornar-se aquilo que ele pode ser: "What humans can be, they must be: they must be true to their own nature!" (Tradução: "O que os humanos podem ser, eles devem ser: Eles devem ser verdadeiros com a sua própria natureza). É neste último patamar da pirâmide que Maslow considera que a pessoa tem que ser coerente com aquilo que é na realidade "... temos de ser tudo o que somos capazes de ser, desenvolver os nossos potenciais". Ela mostra que para chegar no todo é necessário passar pelas partes, mas também é visto que, há indivíduos que chegam a auto-realizar-se sem passar por todas as etapas da pirâmide. Como também há indivíduos que estão realizados mas que sentem que ainda falta algo ou alguma coisa. O que não quer dizer que ele não passou por todas etapas ou mesmo passou, só que a personalidade, a motivação e o meio social de cada um influência na auto-realização que quando não é conseguida gera a frustração. In response to the behavioral and psychodynamic approaches, the humanistic perspective was formed, 1960 -1970. _____ This approach has its roots in phenomenological and existential philosophy; think, Kierkegaard & Heidegger, et al. _____ The humanstic approach works under the assumption that people; 1.) cannot be reduced to components and are greater than the sum of their parts, 2.) Have the ability to make choices and have real free will, and 3.) Humans seek meaning, value and self actualization. _____ Humanists believe that people are motivated to be the best they can be (ideal self), and that problems arrise when their perceptions (real self) do not match their ideal. _____ The prominent humanistic psychotherapist Carl Rogers, was the first to call his patients 'clients' and offered a supportive environment in which 'clients' could gain insight into their own feelings. Not reducing people to their pathologies is also typical of this approach. _____ This perspective is still relatively prevalent in clinical settings.
