CFB Player Profile: Jesse Osuna, Linebacker, San Jose State Spartans
2018 Statistics:
93 Tackles (55 Solo - 38 Assists)
2 Sacks - 1 Forced Fumble
2 Interceptions
2019 Preview:
San Jose State isn't the best team to be right now, after a very rough season of losses, close and far. But one of the bright spots they have is linebacker Jesse Osuna. Osuna is a solid, gap closing backer who is a solid tackler and has the athleticism to make plays to try to turn the tides. His Sophomore year was solid for such a dismal season, but hopefully, he can go up from here and build a strong 2019. To do so, he has to muster up 100-110 tackles, 3-5 sacks, a few forced fumbles & an Int or two will show he can be a playmaker and a game-changer for San Jose.

CFB Player Preview: Jarrett Guarentano, Quarterback, Tennessee Volunteers
2018 Stats:
153-246 completions
1907 Passing Yards
12 Touchdowns - 3 Interceptions
2019 Preview:
Guarantano is yet another name that isn't as well known but has some upside to him, like decent accuracy and big body build, capable of handling hard-hitting defenses. His Sophomore year wasn't the best in history, but for only 12 games, his gameplay was that of a solid backup. With his Junior year, if he can place a good year, with at least 2500 yards passing with 15-18 touchdowns and less than 4 interceptions, he can take a chance at electing for the draft, and be a possible 4-6 round pick, maybe even undrafted to a team who can groom a decent backup for a young, gun-slinging starter.

NFL Player Preview: Phillip Lindsay, Running Back, Denver Broncos
2018 stats:
192 rushes
1,037 yards
9 Touchdowns
35 Receptions
241 Receiving Yards
1 Touchdown
2019 Preview:
This young man is easily one of the best underdog stories in NFL history! He comes in undrafted and undersized for his skill group, yet has an amazing rookie campaign for a Denver offense that has some struggles ahead of them. He has come in and bolstered them just a little bit more, hopefully, to do the same thing in 2019. If Lindsay can host another 1,000+ rushing yard and 300+ receiving yard year, with 10+ touchdowns between the latter, he will cement his place in Denver, as well as possibly a chance at NFL glory.

CFB Player Profile: Kade Waguespack, Tight End, Air Force Falcons
2018 Statistics:
9 Receptions - 137 Receiving Yards
3 Touchdowns
2019 Preview:
Air Force is another member of the Mountain West, that doesn't have a strong presence in the NFL. And unfortunately they weren't able to utilize Kade Waguespack in the passing game, but he was a very solid blocker in the run game, making him a big asset to perimeter runs. Hopefully though in his junior year, they will utilize him more in passing, so he can have more of a stat line. If they do use him more often, he will need to conjure up at least 500+ yards with a handful of touchdowns to get attention from scouts and show he is worthy to be passed to, as well as used as a blocker.

CFB Player Profile: Josh Love, Quarterback, San Jose State Spartans
2018 Stats:
162-289 completions - 1,963 Passing Yards
14 Touchdowns - 9 Interceptions
2019 Preview:
San Jose State isn't a real formidable, dominant team in its conference, but it does have some stand out players, like Josh Love. Sure, he didn't have the best stat line, but his toughness allows him to still be a well-rounded player. His Junior year was a bit sluggish in terms of TDs to Ints, but that can change. If he can build a better stat line in 2019, with at least 2,100 yards passing with 15-18 touchdowns and no double-digit Ints, he can show that his Junior year didn't definitely who he was as a player and he can still be a solid backup in the NFL someday.

CFB Player Profile: Eno Benjamin, Running Back, Arizona State Sun Devils
2018 Stats:
300 carries for 1,642 Rushing Yards
16 Rushing Touchdowns
35 Receptions for 263 Receiving Yards and 2 Touchdowns
2019 Preview:
There are quite a few big names in the NFL that were overlooked before they became all-star, elite level players. Examples include Tom Brady and Phillip Lindsay, and Benjamin could join that list of underrated future stars. Benjamin may be undersized like Lindsay was for an RB, at only 5'10" and barely over 200 pounds, he has breakaway speed and big-play capabilities behind the right offensive line. He isn't a power back by any means, but he is a top elusive back amongst the PAC-12. Eno Benjamin had a solid Sophomore year, but come Junior year, he has an opportunity to showcase what he can bring at the NFL level. To do so, he should at least gain 3000+ total scrimmage yards, 2500 in rushing and 500 in passing, plus about 15-17 touchdowns between the latter, and stay strong-armed with no fumbles. With all this and the big ego he has, he can be a major college standout, and possibly someday an NFL elite-level playmaker.

CFB Player Profile: Logan Wilson, Middle Linebacker, Wyoming Cowboys
2018 Stats:
99 Tackles (56 Solo, 43 Assists)
2 Sacks - 2 Interceptions
2019 Preview:
While Wyoming is a better school in the Mountain West, they still don't get a lot of attention for the talent they have. One of those examples is linebacker Logan Wilson. While he is tall but stockier than the traditional linebacker, he is nothing short of an explosive tackler. Wide in the shoulders & hips, able to make big hits, while also having velvet hands to snag interceptions. His Junior year was extremely good, but if he can one-up this year, he will be sought after in the 2020 NFL Draft. With 100+ tackles, a minimum of 3-6 sacks, and a couple interceptions to top off, he can be an easy 2nd round pick for the right team, maybe even low 1st round if he blows up in 2019.

NFL Opinion (Camp Battle/Meinecke Mindset): Artie Burns, Cornerback, Pittsburgh Steelers
Career Stats:
141 Tackles (116 Solo, 25 Asst.)
1 Safety
27 pass deflections - 4 Interceptions
2019 Battle:
Burns has only been in the league for 4 years as of this upcoming season, but he is already fighting for a position on the starting 53. With a crowded secondary depth chart, including free agent pick up Steven Nelson and 3rd round pick Justin Layne, he is now in fight or flight time, especially since he has an $800,000 roster bonus due July 28th, and he doesn't want that to be his last paycheck with Pittsburgh.
Of course, he is putting in some overtime during OTA's and minicamp, as well as some extra film time with coaches. HC Tomlin said Burns understands the "urgency of his circumstances" since he is on the chopping block if he doesn't have a major bounce-back year this year. For this to be a successful bounce-back year, he has to be a consistent starter, logging at least 40-50 tackles, with a plethora of pass deflections, and a minimum of 2-5 Ints, otherwise he will be looking for employment elsewhere.

NFL Opinion (Camp Battle/Meinecke Mindset): Green Bay Packers K Mason Crosby vs. Sam Ficken
Mason Crosby, K (GB)
Career Stats:
307 of 382 field goals made (80.4% complete)
Longest: 58 yards
2019 Position Battle:
This is a very odd story on Crosby. Granted, he was never a stand out kicker like Mort Anderson or Adam Vinatieri, but he was always consistent to an extent, always did his best to be as reliable as possible for Green Bay. But this year being solid and consistent until a mentally devastating game in Detroit where he missed 5 kicks (4 FGs and an extra point), then missing a last-second field goal in a loss to Arizona, GM Brian Gutekunst has enlisted competition for Crosby, in the form of free agent Sam Ficken, who kicked in only 4 games within the last two seasons with the Rams.
This will be the first time since 2013 that the Packers had two kickers on their off-season roster. Crosby will be busy this off-season fighting to keep his starting spot. For this to be a reality, he has to be more consistent, making game-changing field goals and sink every extra point he kicks. If this doesn't happen and Ficken shows growth the rest of the offseason and into the pre-season, Ficken could be the new starting kicker for the Packers, putting Crosby either behind or off the 53-man roster starting week one.
