One of my absolute favorite things about beading is how it has demanded me to slow down. I’m faster now than when I started of course, but if I rush, I fuck up. If I rush, I don’t enjoy it. It’s sort of become this meditative ritual my hands and my mind get to escape to, all while imagining, and counting, and breathing... I don’t mind the hours. It’s trickling into every aspect of my life. I don’t glamorize being “too busy” anymore. It sucks. It sucks for me. I can’t turn out 20 pairs at a time like other mediums allow you to, and I’m ok with that. I found a thing I love, in a pace I needed, and it turns out, it was always there. Slowing down, paying attention, is the thing
