"Cub at Quail Creek"
The naturally magical setting of Okeechobee County in Florida is a lovely place for this equally beautiful Piper Cub on floats. The title of the painting comes from the specific location of Quail Creek Plantation where a Cub outing was held.

It’s been a long time between posts, my apologies.
My most recent purchase a Ww2 German Luftwaffe Fallschirmjäger/Flight crew visor cap. It definitely has the look of going to war and back. Thumb print and all. It’s got the look!

What a dazzling duo: Cobi Junkers Ju 87B and 87G. Thanks to Mark C for sharing the photos of these great companion sets
The Junkers JU 87B was a German dive bomber from World War II. This single-engine, low-wing plane was made entirely of metal. The first prototype was made in 1928 and its full production began in 1937. From 1937 until 1944 approximately 6,500 planes were produced. Its characteristic feature were the wings in a configuration of the letter “W”. It was also known for its acoustic sirens ('Jericho trumpets’) turned on during a dive flight to cause panic among enemies. The plane was very modern and was a symbol of Luftwaffe power but it also had a couple of flaws. It was poorly armoured, slow and not very agile. Without the protection of other fighters, it was an easy target for the enemy.
87G: Anti-tank variant of the Stuka dive bomber with an upgraded engine, two 30 mm cannons and the capacity for a 1,000 kg bomb load produced in reaction to the large numbers of well-armoured Soviet tanks that were causing German defeats on the Eastern Front.
The model's pilot is Hans-Ulrich Rudel, the most successful Stuka ace and most highly decorated German serviceman of the Second World War.

Lee’s Surrender pt 4:
Lee’s army was trapped. Messages were soon exchanged and Lee and Grant agreed to meet at the Wilmer McLean home at Appomattox Courthouse that afternoon. There, the surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia was signed. Three days later, a formal ceremony marked the disbanding of Lee's army and the parole of his men, ending the war in Virginia. The events here triggered similar surrenders across the south, ending the fighting of the Civil War.

The |Type 95 Ha-Go|, also known as Ke-Go, can trace its roots as far back as 1933. The Ha-Go tank was a rather small machine weighing around 7 tons. The crew consisted of three men, the commander, a machine-gunner, and the driver. Most of its' shells were standard explosive rounds, as a majority of these types of tanks were used in an anti-infantry role. The military weapons consisted of two Type 97 machine guns, one in the turret rear and the other in the front hull. Arguably, one of the most prominent features of the tank was its very simple suspension system, which proved easy to maintain, although a single well-placed hit could disable the vehicle. This suspension system became the standard for the majority of the other types of Japanese tanks. There were only 2300 of these types of tanks built. It was also by far the most widely available and used tank in the Japanese military from 1939-1945. -The tank credit goes to @full_plastic_jacket and was later modified myself-
