I seriously cannot believe how fast this year is flying by. Faster than any year I remember!
.
May is a busy, on-the-road month for me: firstly because I’m taking time to take care of my health (long due) and, secondly, we’re flying off to #NewYorkCity for a week with the hubs ! So excited!
.
Do you have anything exciting planned in May? Do I have anyone from #NYC here? Any cool recommendations?

Who’s your hero? Mine is my husband who works hard every day and is my biggest support as a Christian leader and my best friend. I wrote about him in these pages and his best attributes. .

Oregon ash Did you know that planting trees is one of the most effective things we can do to combat climate change? Trees metabolize and store CO2, and a new study by ecologist Thomas Crowther shows that, if we could plant an additional trillion trees, we could undo ten years' worth of anthropogenic carbon emissions. (For reference, there are an estimated 3 trillion trees on the planet now.) Furthermore, much of this increase in trees could theoretically happen within the boundaries of our already-established national parks! (link in story if you want to read more.) I don't know about you, but I have pretty bad climate-related anxiety. I worry about the planet every time I buy or consume anything, and I cringe every time I see a plastic coffee cup, but this was the first bit of news in a long while that made me actually feel hopeful about the future of our planet. I'm even more invigorated than usual to support initiatives that create more green space and protect our existing forests. I'm so glad that there are talented scientists out there finding ways to clean up our man-made mess, and I hope that you're inspired to look up at the trees around you today and say thank you
