A truly amazing day! We encountered four "exotic" transient killer whales that have been seen off of British Columbia - but not California! We also encountered a very rarely seen Guadalupe fur seal: fantastic day! This month, we celebrate our Centennial Year by looking back at the rich history of 17-Mile Drive and the Del Monte Forest. In 1881, a scenic 17-mile drive was created to tour the Monterey Peninsula. It launched from Hotel Del Monte, circled the coastline of Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach and Carmel, before returning to Monterey.
