The Mill, Mortlake. . One of the largest buildings in Mortlake captured at night. On the way back from Ballarat I decided to stop and get some shots of the mill, but because I had not scouted the location during the day I didn’t know what was behind the building and thought it best not to go exploring in pitch darkness. It was a cloudy night so I used a bit of artistic license and replaced the sky in this shot, I also flipped it to make that more obvious as the Milky Way would never be in this position in relation to the building. Where you place your attention is where you place your energy - Dr. Joe Dispenza✨ • I was defo placing my attention on not falling off this ledge‍♀️ On a serious note - it’s so true that what you think about is where your energy is being used. Are you wasting your energy thinking about the same thing that happened in the past that you regret/ feel guilty about/ blame for your current state of being etc.? Are you wasting your energy worrying about something in the future that hasn’t even happened yet? Wherever your mind goes your energy follows, and so does your body. If you feel like you’re stuck in the same cycle, where every day is more or less the same, then for change to happen you need to first change yourself - have a look at your thoughts from an outside perspective and try to let go of the ones that are keeping you stuck in the same cycles. New thoughts = new experiences, because you begin to make new choices. What direction would you like your life to go in? Who you looked up to? I used to get so confused about what to write because I didn’t have an idol or role model. I remember thinking “I just look up to myself” ‍♀️ but that sounds big headed right? So I just wrote about how my parents were my role models because they were my favourite adults But I understand now that younger me was right - just trust & believe in yourself and everything falls into place. Why model yourself around someone else? If you’re in touch with your true self then you know what you should and shouldn’t do - why do you have to look to someone else, something outside of yourself, to know you’re on the right track? Why follow in their footsteps when you can create your own path? I’m not saying become self-absorbed & narcissistic all of a sudden (not that there’s anything wrong with that, I used to be like that (oh hey drama Sara - if you know you know)), I mean believe in yourself. But like really believe in yourself. Not just saying it a couple times, actually feeling it. Just like you wouldn’t look down on someone, don’t look down on yourself (and by doing so putting someone else “above” you). Try to look inside instead of outside.
